rustbucket0873 (145), Krikville, New York, USA Mar 24, 2009 this beer is slightly darker than your typical amber and has a fluffy head. the aroma is malt, sweet, and slight hops. the taste is malty, with a sweet flavor, bitter at the front and ends sweet. over all this is very smooth and pretty good jaghana (94), Strasbourg, France Mar 21, 2009 Bottle 50cl. Colour is very nice and red / amber. The taste is almost similar to some Irish Red Ale but with more sugar and alcool. We can detect the typical caramalt aroma as well as german hops also. The beer is quite bitter with some spices flavours, it goes well with this kind of heavy beers. rudy (12), New York, USA Mar 21, 2009 wow. This beer just took me by surprise. Simply wonderful. It had a nice amber color with a nice creamy head. the head don’t last, but that hardly mattered. It had a nice malty aroma, with a slight confectionary trace. and the flavor was almost the same. very pleasant malt taste, with toffee undertones. it went down very easy., and overall just very pleased. jumped up to one of my top favorite beers, out of over 300 I have had. CanIHave4Beers (835), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Mar 20, 2009 This pours a nice reddish brown with a good head and some nice lace. The aroma is sweet and fruity and the flavor follows with good cherry and apple character. Rounded out by a mile roastiness and tons of caramel. Very nice. joeyplush (328), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 19, 2009 Aroma is sweet, with some light hints of dark fruit, caramel malt and alcohol. Appearance is fair, but I do really like the dark amber hue. Taste of roasted malt and noticeable alcohol. GranvilleTim (466), Granville, Illinois, USA Mar 15, 2009 Dark amber pour with a white head. Aroma is fruity and malty. It had a creamy taste that seemed to coat my mouth. Sweet tasting and you can taste the alcohol. Very tasty beer. Enacoid90 (16), Rome, Italy Mar 15, 2009 The Paulaner Salvator with its strong, typically malty taste is the original Paulaner. TheJollyOne (204), Kofu, Japan Mar 14, 2009 Served as cold as ice in Korea with no glass, haha. Someone needs to brush up on their beer drinking. Tall tan head, clear amber body. Smell of smoke and wheat, citrus and grains. Taste was nutty, with toffee and a well balanced hoppy finish. Sharp palate, medium filling. Amazingly refreshing even at 7.9% - I was expecting it to have more weight. Excellent beer.
