arrogantb (695), Denver, Colorado, USA Jan 25, 2009 Bottle dated 06/08 but I figured it would still be good so I bought it anyway. Nice reddish color, smells and tastes bready, grainy, some sweetness, raisin bread. Overall a tasty and easy to drink dopplebock. I need to start drinking more of these German beers!

Flavor is rich malty, some breadiness, and dark fruit. beerchugger (286), Colorado, USA Jan 21, 2009 A nice amber color with an attractive dark fluffy head that formed. This was a very good doppelbock, highly recommend it. It had a big malty flavor along with a fruity finish. Noses of fruit, malts, and some slight hops. wcampbell (572), Central, South Carolina, USA Jan 16, 2009 Pretty good, about what I was expecting. Not overly sweet which is a problem in many doppelbocks. Fruity malts, especially grapes, dominate the taste. Sweet finish. Dense taste, light carbonation. NoiZe (1289), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands Jan 15, 2009 Amber colored brew. Malty aroma. Flavor is fruity, malty, watery, en some burned malts. Bierkrug (235), Idar-Oberstein (in Pakistan), Germany Jan 14, 2009 500 ml bottle in Germany. Nice brown head it was not exported so it had a nice head but went quickly. What can I say other than this is proof that Macros can brew fantastic beer. Unlike most Macros in the USA. Slight aftertaste a bit metalic. Still a great Bock. jsquire (2087), St. Marys, Ohio, USA Jan 7, 2009 Brownish orange color out of the bottle with almost no head. Big sweet nose of caramels and alcohol. Thick creamy caramel and toffee sweetness with some rich bread and dark fruit. Hot on the tongue. Nice double bock. jfb (413), Weihenstephan, Germany Jan 5, 2009 (bottle) pours a ruby-amber colour with a creamy off-white head. aroma of caramel, sweet spices, strawberries and brown sugar. flavour is fruity, with notes of apple, strawberry and peach, caramel, yeast and alcohol. heavy-bodied with medium carbonation and a rather dry finish. a surprisingly good bock!
