EFC1878 (291), Manchester, Greater Manchester, England Nov 27, 2008 Bottle from Carringtons, Manchester. Bit too thin for a Doppelbock for me. Other than that, not a bad beer of its type but not exceptional. jimmack34 (560), Lancaster, Ohio, USA Nov 20, 2008 Pours brownish amber with tan head. Smells like burnt grains, sweet mollassy. Tastes sweet, roasty, starts bitter with the burnt grains, followed by some fruity sour/sweetness. Hints of honey or molasses and some cocoa. Not to my liking. austone (999), Turku; Pori, Finland Nov 20, 2008 Draught. Sweet malty and molassy nose, little fruitiness, syrup. Slightly toasty, but there ain’t much hops. Flavor is sweet syrupy malts, sweet pear and alcohol. Almost closer to European strong lagers, than ”proper” dobbelbocks. A bit thin palate, with soda like carbonation. I remember this being a lot more chewy and warming from bottle, should probably re-rate that way sometime. bradlyc77 (226), Sebastopol, California, USA Nov 20, 2008 Updated: Jan 14, 2009Great maltiness as expected from this style but not overly sweet. Beautiful brown color with well balanced hops. 09maso3 (69), vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Nov 1, 2008 amber coppery colour. medium head. sweet, malty aroma. Very bready, malty taste but not too sweet. still well balanced. A very solid doppelbock. gwpom (246), Akron, New York, USA Oct 29, 2008 Updated: Feb 8, 2009Bottle. Pours a clear amber color, thin off white head, very malty, fruity, and flavorful. Not a huge fan of doppelbocks but this is worth trying. peuasa (34), Salvador, Brazil Oct 28, 2008 Bottle, R$ 10.00 (US$ 4.55) in Bompreço Iguatemi, Salvador, Brazil. Very nice beer. terrybail (331), London, Ontario, Canada Oct 28, 2008 Bottle from the LCBO
