Nice looking brew thanks to the color. Syrupy, sugary, slightly alcoholic, malty aroma. Taste... Syrupy caramel malt, a bit of breadiness, a tad alcoholic. Tingly carbonation, slightly watery, but not drastically so. Solid, solid effort. Thumbs up. Not as fruity as Optimator, more "burnt" flavors on the tongue, nearly spicy. More complex than expected, every mouthful is a new delight. Smell of malts, apricot, rum. Mouthfeel is smooth; almost creamy on the tongue and leaves a faint sweet tingle on the edge of the lips (in an almost pornographic sort of way). Taste falls intot he spectacular range with hints of ham, toffee, buttered carrots, brown sugar, caramel, spices, barley, and malt.
