Commercial Description:
The Paulaner Salvator with its strong, typically malty taste is the original Paulaner. The bottom-fermented Doppelbock-Bier unites the finest hops and dark barley malt. The Paulaner monks served Salvator as a replacement for food at Lent. Their most famous brewer was Brother Barnabas, who was the head of the Paulaner monastery brewery starting from 1773. Its original recipe is today almost the same as it was in Barnabas' time. In order to protect the original recipe, Paulaner had the trade mark "Salvator" patented in 1896.

22 oz. bottle. Poured amber-red with some beige head that quickly dissipates. Smells of tart fruits, molasses, nuts and alcohol. Tastes sweet and toasty... honey and dried fruits with notes of malts and almonds... a little tart, and some definite alcohol presence. Not bad, the flavor of alcohol was not masked enough for my tastes, but I should have expected that at 7.9%.

poured an amber-red hue with a quickly fading white head. No carbonation present. A rich malty aroma sweet caramel and bread notes some alcohol. Flavor was a sweet with both caramel and a sweet bread note. Nice smooth drink, mild but noticeable alcohol presance .

Bottle, Large Creamy white head with some lacing. Clear body with an amber/red color. Aroma of molasses/carmel and almonds. Decent palate with a medium body and light carbonation. Sweet flavor. Does not even compare to Celebrator or even Tucher.

a bright ruby, orange colour with a little head. smells like hops and sweetness. it tastes like light caramel and honey, pretty sweet overall. it feels sticky and oily in the mouth, also hides the alcohol really well. not completely soft like a darker beer, it still has the feel of lighter styles. i had one once that i had shaken up and was warm and didnt like it. but this time its really good.. good deal for the money too

341mL bottle from LCBO. Pours dark orange amber, with a small reducing white head. Nose is of sweet malt and honey. Flavour is of honey, toffee’d malt, and scorched sweet nuts. Thick, appropriate mouthfeel. Delicious.
