COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Paulaner Salvator with its strong, typically malty taste is the original Paulaner. The bottom-fermented Doppelbock-Bier unites the finest hops and dark barley malt. The Paulaner monks served Salvator as a replacement for food at Lent. Their most famous brewer was Brother Barnabas, who was the head of the Paulaner monastery brewery starting from 1773. Its original recipe is today almost the same as it was in Barnabas' time. In order to protect the original recipe, Paulaner had the trade mark "Salvator" patented in 1896.

Decent white head and a brown-copper body. Aroma of European yeast with a hint of malt. Flavour is intense fusels with just a hint of malt on the end. Cloying finish. I was hoping for much more.

Pours a dark murky red color. Aroma has loads of sweet malt, chocolates, caramel. Quite nice aroma! Flavor is bready, sweet, and has caramel-flavors and some burnt toasty notes. Really nice. Would recommend!

Jeg havde hørt meget godt om denne øl, så jeg er lidt skuffet. Savner det sidste pift

0.33 l bottle. Light brown with minimal head. Powerful aroma blend malts with hints of esters, a little wine. Taste: malt wine, light sweetness, roasted, warming.

Bottle. Brown body with tan fast disappearing head. Aroma is not very strong some caramel malts, some alcohol and when it warms up some dried fruits . Taste is also very thin some malts and not much more. Aftertaste is saccharine with malts. Absolutely overrated.

A descent beer. Not my favorite beer but still very drinkable in a pinch. Just lingers a little long.

Flasche 0,33. Mein erstes Doppelbock.

Bottle. A: Opaque brown with a firm foam, 1" creme head. N: Toffee, minerality and iron, plenty of bread, both white, wheat, and rye, touch of peppercorn, red licorice, some light hopping leaves behind an earthiness. T: Bready sweet, not bitter but not cloying. M: Medium body, fizzy carbonation, no alcohol. O: Another meal in a glass. I prefer Andechser and Celebrator, but this will do in a pinch.
