Commercial Description:
The Paulaner Salvator with its strong, typically malty taste is the original Paulaner. The bottom-fermented Doppelbock-Bier unites the finest hops and dark barley malt. The Paulaner monks served Salvator as a replacement for food at Lent. Their most famous brewer was Brother Barnabas, who was the head of the Paulaner monastery brewery starting from 1773. Its original recipe is today almost the same as it was in Barnabas' time. In order to protect the original recipe, Paulaner had the trade mark "Salvator" patented in 1896.

Bottle-Good solid beer, full amber color with a small head. The aroma was malty with caramel. The taste followed in the same manner with some sweetness bordering the malts. Produce place 1.79

Sweet, heavy malt - very hefty drink. Myriad of flavors and aromas. Warning; do not pair with smoked salmon dip. Bad times.

Pours a clearish light brown color with a an airy off-white head. Smells of sweet brown sugar and malt. To me this brew always tastes of sweet potatoes and brown sugar. Malt as well. Thinnish with just ok carbonation. Great brew if you’re in the mood for a sweet, brown German brew.

Best beer I had so far in my life. Incredibly rich and full flavor, of course malty and sugary-sweet. Beautiful dark reddish color. I was utterly amazed how easy it was to drink this beer, no trace of the high alcohol content, just pure taste.

Bottle. Orange/red color with almost no head. Nice aroma of dates, sugar, and bread. Flavor mixes fruits and dark malts with little alcoholic burn. Not overwhelming, but a really nicely balanced brew.

Pours a dark copper color with virtually no head and no lacing, color was pretty nice though. Smell is pretty nice, strong smell of burnt caramel, molasses, and some dark fruit. Much of the same in the taste but with a pretty strong alcohol presence. Taste would be higher with less alcohol apparent. Very sweet, but a small, but seemingly correct amount of hops come through in the taste. Low carbonation, full body. A little too much alcohol warmth to have a lot of this, but it is still very tasty.

Interesting Dopplebock. Generally mild flavor, smooth and full feel on the mouth, and nice malt (bready) flavor. Slightly sweet, with a little sugar.
