weaselkenievil (738), Cheshire, England Dec 19, 2007 Can I blame my behaviour on this drink? Wasn’t that strong but that’s my fault for being on a works do, getting home after daft amounts of cheap rubbish and trying to rate it. It does taste strong which isn’t a good thing for me right now. Bit sweet, not that impressed but do not want to give the impression I don’t like it. Not educated enough to put my finger on why it’s a bit...I don’t know.. Smells great, a real lung full like my dinner this evening. Hmm average? I’ll try it again. Becker (14), Bayern, Germany Dec 18, 2007 Filtered redish brown beer, not much head, lots of caramel aroma, very malty, sweet, but balanced. A very good bockbier rwgould (58), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Dec 17, 2007 0.33l bottle. Pours a clear golden brown with absolutely no head. Lots of carbonation. Smells very strong, mostly of malt. Palate is very smooth. Tastes strongly of malt and alcohol with hint of caramel. Taste becomes quite sweet with a hint of fruit. drewbeerme (2223), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 17, 2007 bottle. pours clear ruby with thin white head around the rim but that didn’t last 5minutes. the aroma is syrupy cotton candy sweet, with lots of molasses. flavor is sweet, syrupy, molasses and toffee. slightly toasted and nutty. body is really thin and the carbonation is fizzy. pretty sweet, straight forward beer with a bad mouth feel. i expected more because this is barely drinkable. Swalden28 (1440), McKinney, Texas, USA Dec 16, 2007 Pretty tastey....nice use of what appears to me crystal malt and roasted malts. Terrific use of flavor and aroma hops. Rich tan head with good retention. Feels great on the pallat and on the nose. Nice relaxing beer for speacial occasions. Would purchase again. lithilorn (169), Covilhã, Portugal Dec 15, 2007 Bottle, Amber color with tan head. Aroma and flavor very sweet of caramel and nuts and little roasty. Medium carbonation and a bit alcohol finish with sweetness. MoDog (909), Griffith, Indiana, USA Dec 14, 2007 Poured from a 12oz bottle and served in a Bell’s dimpled mug. This dopplebock poured a clear, caramel color with a ton of carbonation dancing inside the glass. A one-finger thick head of beige foam lasted throughout. A touch of slippery lace was left behind. The aroma of the beer consisted of lightly roasted caramel malts, bread, and nuts. The flavor was made up of caramel, vanilla, sweet ripe fruits, and a mild noble hop note. The mouthfeel was full-bodied with a good dose of aggressive carbonation. A straightforward beer. Very well crafted and to the point. kidmartinek (972), austin, Texas, USA Dec 12, 2007 Updated: Dec 20, 2007Pours a nice copper color with a lot of foam that quickly settles down and stablizes to 1 inch that lasts a while. The brew smells great like its been brewed very slowly, LOL. The taste is sweet and bland malty. The finish is very clean.
