DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel Sep 1, 2007 Draught at Paulaner im Roten Ochsen in Cologne. Amber beer with a slow-diminishing beige head. Malty aroma with some caramel. Flavor is sweet with firm maltiness and caramel. Medium to full body and a somewhat syrupy mouthfeel. Very nice beer. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 09/08/1996

mfaulke (81), clemson, South Carolina, USA Aug 31, 2007 This beer has less flavor than the other doppelbocks I have tried, but it is well balanced. It is very smooth and dangerously drinkable, and I would really like to try it on tap. I put this one about even with the Optimator, but a peg below the Celebrator or Aventinus. LilKem (1210), Marietta, Ohio, USA Aug 26, 2007 carmel, malt, chocolate, wheat, lemon, ginger, and clove. very rich carmel color with thick creamy beige head. touch of butterscotch and bourbon. hagisu (42), Ontario, Canada Aug 26, 2007 Nice sweet malty aroma, nice copper colour. Bit of a hoppy finish, but more malty overall and some mild spice. A decent Doppelbock. ekstedt (2411), Göteborg, Sweden Aug 24, 2007 Bottle from Toom Getränkemarkt in Kasierslautern, Germany. Clear copper red with a small creamy beige head. Roasted, nutty and toffeish malt aroma, a slight alcoholic touch. Very smooth and creamy with light carbonation. Very well balanced with a long moderately bitter finish. Good but not in the same range as Andechser Doppelbock. coldbrewky (716), Saugerties, New York, USA Aug 22, 2007 .5 L Bottle: Consumed from Stein. Pours a deep amber with a large bubble head that settles fast. Sweet consuming aroma of hot wort. I mean sweet like the ass of a homecoming queen /cheerleader. Maolt overpowers the hops but hops are there for the enjoymnent of those who appreciate them. Brown sugary body that quits and let s som spice end it with the hops. Nice. douglas88 (1556), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Aug 22, 2007 Pours a dark amber and has the aroma of malt, alcohol and perhaps some fruit. A great smooth taste of sweet malt with a little bit of bitterness, and a nice alcohol bite. Quite well balanced and well done.
