The Paulaner Salvator with its strong, typically malty taste is the original Paulaner. The bottom-fermented Doppelbock-Bier unites the finest hops and dark barley malt. The Paulaner monks served Salvator as a replacement for food at Lent. Their most famous brewer was Brother Barnabas, who was the head of the Paulaner monastery brewery starting from 1773. Its original recipe is today almost the same as it was in Barnabas' time. In order to protect the original recipe, Paulaner had the trade mark "Salvator" patented in 1896.

Bottle. Cloudy brown pour with a yellow tan head. Malt heavy beer. Brewed with standards following reinheitsgebot, This double bock is indeed a very malty medium bodied beer. Not as high an abv to compliment but good nonetheless. Fruity aromas pair well with the malt and molasses for a sweet beer.

330ml bottle into glass. Spicy fruit malt nose. Cloudy dark orange beer with small creamy head. Light spritzy mouthfeel with oily texture. Malt backbone gives way to dark fruits and alcohol. It’s like a good rich Christmas cake. Excellent beer, really delicious.

Copper/orange color, normal head. Aroma is fruity and also there is some kind of candy. Has a somewhat strange falvor, and I dont like this one the way many other seem to do.

Beer has a great aroma, nice amber/brown color with good head. Tastes heavy and, uh, stouty. Bitter finnish, probably won’t buy again.

Color rojizo anaranjado y espuma que desaparece al momento. Bastante densa pese a su aspecto. Aroma acaramelado, tostado. Sabor lupulado y bastante afrutado.

Pours copper with a medium-sized, quickly fading head. The aroma features rich maltiness with a toasty element: bread, nuts, a touch of dried fruits and caramel. Taste is light sweet and malt-driven, yet balanced. Dried fruits are slightly more noticeable than in the aroma; also bready, nutty notes prevail. Maltiness lingers into finish. Alcohol warms but does not burn or affect the taste. The palate is smooth and medium bodied with a low to moderate carbonation. Classic doppelbock, suitable for various situations.

Hazy amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Airy palate, fine carbonation. A light creamy start to the malts which then turn rich and bring something reminiscent of molasses but not quite that. Mild spice. Unsweet bubblegum esters underneath. Semi dry finish. Rich.
