COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Paulaner Salvator with its strong, typically malty taste is the original Paulaner. The bottom-fermented Doppelbock-Bier unites the finest hops and dark barley malt. The Paulaner monks served Salvator as a replacement for food at Lent. Their most famous brewer was Brother Barnabas, who was the head of the Paulaner monastery brewery starting from 1773. Its original recipe is today almost the same as it was in Barnabas' time. In order to protect the original recipe, Paulaner had the trade mark "Salvator" patented in 1896.

Tastes almost like unfermented wort, very sweet and malty. Awesome color and good head. Doesn’t feel as powerful as it is. Deceptively easy to drink. Hops are almost unnnoticeable. Very satisfying.

From the bottle. Thick rocky head that stuck to the side of the glass. A sustaining brew with a rich and creamy mouthfeel. Sweet at first with fermented apples and vanilla. Finished with a peppery alcoholic flare. The more I drank the smoother it went down.

Aroma- Strong malt aroma, modest toasty, minimal hops, no diacetyl, low fruity esters of prunes and dark fruit, moderate alcohol Appearance- Dark amber hue with orange highlights, good clarity, minimal off-white head quickly dissipates, minimal legs Flavors- Rich and thick caramel flavors, significant melanoidins and moderate toasty flavors, clean lager yeast, no diacetyl, light essence of dark fruits, light alcohol smoothness near the end, slight hop bitterness, sweet finish Mouthfeel- Full-bodied, moderate carbonation, very smooth texture Overall- The prototype doppelbock style, rich and sweet malts dominate throughout with a smooth and creamy texture, very clean and crisp flavors, easy-drinking as the alcohol is well masked behind the malt profile, no discernible flaws here

Aroma is sweet and fruity plus a hint of alcohol. Pours a clear dark copper color with a bubly head that disapears almost immediately. Taste is once again sweet and fruity; raisins, a bit of plum, plus some caramel and toffee. Finishes with a smooth, dry flavor of nuts and smoke. Smooth and very drinkable.

Bottle 330ml. Great beer. Crisp aroma, with caramel, butter, and alcohol. Taste is sweet, and long-lasting. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Amber colour, with a head that doesn’t last all the way.
