I was expecting a bit more body to this doppelbock. It is good nonethless, but a bit too smooth for the style. Pours almost pure black with a nice head.

Jul 25, 2008 Pours clear brown with a decent sized tan head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt. Taste of sweet malt, dark fruits and a bit of alchohol in the end. Not bad. Not too cloying, but sweet. Hey Grim, I bet you rated this higher then me!

Jul 21, 2008 0,5 l tap at Ølgrotten in Tivoli, København. Brown color, off-white head. Aroma is caramel malt. Flavor is fine sweetness from malt and fruit. Hints of alcohol.

Jul 11, 2008 12 ounce bottle- poured a rich amber-gold with a fair, but short-lived head. Aroma was dried fruit. Taste was dark fruit and very slightly floral. Very nice. Big points for the silky smooth palate. A good one.

Jul 10, 2008 Bottle. Dark ruby, dissipating head. Sweet aroma of burnt sugar and caramel malts. Sweet spicy flavour of dark fruits and dark sugar with a distinct alcohol sting. Very nice cookie dough finish. Like a less refined Belgian, but great value for money.
