Paulaner Weissbier Kristallklar features a more intense wheat malt taste than its Hefeweissbier. There’s a fine sparkling clarity to it, achieved by a very special early-filtering method.

Ingredients: water, wheat malt, barley malt, hops.

Perhaps one of the most refreshing types of German Kristallweizen. It has a nice full taste although it remains fresh and ideal as a summer-beer. The foamtop is rather week but in my case that’s benefit. Appearance is incredibly clearly amber orange.

Clear golden with white head. Smell is lightly smokey. Taste is light with notes of lemon, boiled ham, smoke and spices. Almost like a wit. Paulaner is à fav weisse brewer for me, but like the hefe more.

500 mL bottle from Beers of Europe into a pint glass. Golden and clear, and a bit fizzy, fluffy but well formed head. Light wheaty aroma, smells alright. Tastes like what it is a cross between a wheat beer and a pilsner. Tastes light, fairly fresh, and apart from tasting a little metallic at first its alright and drinkable. Stick to the Hefeweiss Naturtrub.

500ml Bottle. Appearance is clear, orangish, yellow color with fizzy, beige head. Aroma is weak with some hints banana and spice but with a overriding and distracting metallic earthiness. Taste is mostly fruity malts with notes banana and vanilla. Palate is medium-bodied, somewhat slick texture, fizzy carbonation, and slightly astringent finish.

Ehm...misslungen? 50cl bottle from a local supermarket. It pours a clear pale golden liquid with a medium white bubbly head that leaves no lacing. The aroma is light for a weizen beer, with citrus wheat, a distant herbal hoppiness and a malty base, with hints of grain. It tastes more intense, sweet and a little sour. The flavour is wheaty with some malt and a hint of spices. It feels averagedly carbonated, small-medium bodied, a little watery, ending kind of dry. The aftertaste is nice: some grassy hops suddenly appear, along with a pleasant banana sweetness. All in all, a very refreshing one, but as a Kristallweizen it feels castrated. Nice presentation (bottle and crown cap).

0.5L bottle in Berlin. Pours a clear light gold-yellow with a fizzy white head - looks like a light beer. Smells of wheat and malt with a bit of lighter character somewhat similar to a pilsner. Tastes of wheat with a background of malt and light hop bitterness. Definitely less sweet than the typical wheat beer, and flavor is a little more mild than would be desirable. Still, it’s not a bad beer - very drinkable and tastes good.

Clear golden with a big white head. Aroma is sweet and subdued with notes of wheat, banana and yeast. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. Soft. This has a bit of a pilsner-feel to it and it’s bitter for a weissbier. 100710
