2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 jgb9348 (3369) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JAN 13, 2012
Slightly muddy brown coloured body with a very thin tan head and a bit of a lace on the edge. Aroma of malt, slightly sour and yeastie notes with a bit of caramel and sugars. Medium-bodied; Very mellow flavour with some caramel and malt and perhaps a touch of a small sour flavour. Aftertaste is relatively mild as well with only a bit of a raisin and nutty note to complement the ever so small sour flavour. Overall, not really worth trying unless you can scoop it up in a small belgian shop for under €1. I sampled this on draught (slightly neat, but not really) at Birch & Barley in Washington, DC on 12-January-2012 for US$4.50 for four ounces - considerably more than the whole of a 33cL bottle for €1!

On tap at ChurchKey. Pours a dark plum color with quite a small head. Nose and flavor both hold nice vinous notes, balsamic vinegar, along with some plum and raisin. Palate holds soft carbonation, a pleasant and quaffable, lightly sour brew. Not complex, but nice and certainly not as weak as its style percentile would indicate.

(Bottled) Another safe Flemish Brown that makes me think of Rodenbach ,which then shows holes in this , im rating to style so sue me if that is sacrilegious ....but who gives a shit...sweet cherry , oaky, buttery and vinious . Just decent, but mellow.
