ZBF2008: From bottle. Pours golden hazzlenut brown with a lacing white head. Light spiced, slight acidic fruity and a mild roasted note. Flavour is light citric/acidic. Mild caramel and fruity. Ends lingering fruity.

A light amber beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet dusty, while the flavor is sweet and with primary notes of straw. It is missing acidity for the style - it seems a bit old.

(Bottle 25 cl) Dark amber coloured with a red glow and a small off-white head. Slight acidic nose but overall very malt accentuated - some roasted malt - with a small lingering tartness. This is much softer and sweeter than what I usually associate witrh a Flemish sour. Closer to an Abbey Dubbel actually, although without the body, without the power. But a very nice beer indeed. 200299

Bottled. Dark amber. Vingegary nose. Flowery and yeasty with clean mouthfeel and light body. Pleasant up front, but the flavour is short, and the finish non-existant.

Draught at Churchkey. Dark brown, edge head, good lacing. Aroma is sour berries and prunes. Taste starts sweet then turns gradually sour butterscotch, with an emphasis on the scotch. Finish has a tiny bit of hops. Good example of the style.

Red to dark amber color. As Oud Bruin, its really mild, sweetish, without character. The final is very weak and short, with just some woody character.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2008 Bottle. It pours a clear, copper body with a small, off-white head. Cellar, dried fruits, mould, some port, a little oxidation and caramel and a touch of metal in the quite weak aroma. The flavor is sourly sweet, with dried fruit, a little cellar and a tiny oxidation. Quite short finish with some notes of alcohol. Medium to thin body with a little warming feeling. A delicious and gentle beer. Not very sour, not very sweet, not much of everything, but delicious. Rating: 7-3-7-3-15-3.5. (080509)

Bottle. The beer pours a reddish copper body with a quite lively carbonation and a small beige head leaving nice lacings. Dried fruits, some cherries, a little wood, caramel and cellar aromas escape the glass. Gives a rather sweet impression. Cellar, dried fruits, a little woody touch, sugary sweetness, a fruity sourness and some oxidation in the mouth. Silky, medium-bodied and slightly astringent mouthfeel. Slightly lemony and quite sweet finish with dried fruits and oxidation, but as for the rest of the beer, its gentle and certainly not pushing the limits. Easy to drink and with good refreshing qualities. (080826)
