bottle from Bierkoning - bedankt! Deep mahogany brown colour, small beige head. Chocolate and caramel, as well as rasins and dried fruit.

Cloudy mahogany with a medium off white head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and loads of coriander. Flavour had loads of coriander, roasted malt and caramel. Finished sweet.

Bottle 33cl. Clear medium amber color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, spicy, moderate to heavy star anis and anis seed. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20081129]

30 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a diminished off-white head. Spiced aroma of annis seed - solid liqourice. Dry and spiced flavour with a solid liqourice and mild acidic to dry/roasted malt note. A bit too much on the spices, but not unpleasant.

Bottle, 8%. Anise aroma. Muddy brown colour, there is some yeast from the bottom of the bottle. The flavour is citric and slightly malty. Distinct anise flavour. A little one-dimensional, but I like it.

Bottled. An unclear dark amber beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of spices, especially star anise and cardemomme. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of spices - star anise being strongest, but also with notes of caramel and straw. The finish is very dry spicy.
