3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Served in proper Kwak glassware at the Academie de la Biere in Paris. Largish, foamy, light brown head covering a clear amber body. Aroma was nice. Clean, crisp, apple taste, with quite a champagne like mouthfeel. Flavor is quite light and playful for a 8%. Slightly creamy mouth.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: APR 6, 2008 Bottle: aroma is malty and spicy, flavor it’s malty sweet, nutty, some rubber, some toasted notes, something here is a bit off, the alcohol is not hidden too well, some spices, burnt caramel, some dryness and sourness in the finish, pretty good beer.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Amber in colour with fairly strong carbonation and a bunch of yeast floaties. Aromas of brown sugar, earth, citrus, and a bit of something chemical. Fruity and malty flavors dominate, with notes of light caramel, apples, and spice. Coarse, spent hop bitterness on the finish. Pretty average up until the finish, which was poor.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma was slightly spicy with fruity and mostly malty notes. The beer poured a brownish amber with a white head that didn’t stay for long accept as a couple of bubbles in the middles of the glass. Flavor was mild and malty, with some spice. It finished with some bitterness. bubbly, but not soft bodied. An alright beer.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
After years of favoring Belgian beers I tried this one again. Overall conclusion is that this beer can not be compared with true German or American beers. It is not a beer to simply drink away. The appearance is hazy and dull brown a bit troublesome. The flavor is one I don’t fancy anymore, sweet, flat, no hops no bitterness. What happened? What I expected to be a full bodied beer became an experience of cheap watered down beer which is common of starting Dutch breweries. Please give me back the old feeling of ordering a Kwak in a Brussels cafe!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap @ Front Door - Pretty standard Belgian, Started off nice and clean, but by the end it was just too much. Carmelized sugar and a full bodied fruit/ginger/spice profile. Maybe I should have had this on its own and not with food, but just not exciting for a guy who is not that into most belgians to begin with.
