2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, 33cl. I was expecting a lot more from this one. Itís a good beer but something in the flavour was not right.... Pours a red/brown colour with a small beige head that disappeared a little too fast (next time iíll try to drink it in her special glass). Aroma of fruits and spices. The flavour is strong and very complex also very dry. I can sense the malt, spices and the alcohol. However, thereís also something like burnt wood in the flavour that isnít good. Not very smooth and not the best belgian beer around.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 17, 2005 Fantastic - esp. if enjoyed from the excellent and rather unusual glass.
Lots of complexity, maltyness, and a really nice mellow aftertaste. Oh yes - almost bananalike aroma.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours deep copper with a tan head. Nose is spicy with hints of caramel. Taste is malty, with caramel up front. Not bad, but not the smoothest beer Iíve had.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Alcoholish in aroma. Head disappears quickly. Has tons of floaties, and it clots! Very dry for its style. No repurchase here.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Suspended globs upon pouring. Red brick in color, large and lasting foam. Stale, musty yeast in the nose, with hints of barnyard, caramel, spice and red fruits. Flavor is dry and funky, sprucey and thin, with stale malts and boozy fruits, Really sweet and thin. I surely prefer the Tripel.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very decent throughout. Pours orange with not much head. Taste is spicy and has hints of maltiness throughout. Gets better with every drink. Alcohol is under the surface just enough to warm the belly. Give this a try!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear, amber colour with a huge head formation, very long lasting off white. Aroma of fruit, sweet malts and a hint of spiciness. Very complex flavours consisting of fruits, hops and sweet malts. Kind of sweet finish with fairly light bitterness. Warming alcohol characters. The brother of Tripel Karmeliet.
