750 mL bottle. Pours sparkling amber with a small fizzy light brown head, mostly diminishing, spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, toffee), average hops (herbs, grass), average yeast (dough, earth) with notes of butterscotch and maple syrup. Medium bodied, mineral texture, lively carbonation and a metallic finish. Short duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness; alcohol and metal flavors.

Poured a coppery gold. Initial flavour was bright and clean with caramel, orange peel, licorice/anise, coriander, and a hint of candy sugar. When yeast poured in the profile became more bitter and turbid on the taste buds.

Bottle. Clear copper, with thin and quickly disappearing off-white head (am not really sure it was off-white, is went away so fast). Malty, heavy, alcoholic aroma with some herbal hops and notes of rye bread and apricot. Medium to light bodied. A bit unbalnced flavour, alcohol is too evident. Still interesting.

I had this beer at Tastes Wine Bar & Bistro in the Highlands area of Denver. Fantastic experience. It was at proper temp and served in an actual proper Kwak glass. Aroma was floral and malty. Taste was fantastic. Some great spice, floral and maltiness. It was richer and more caramel than a triple. Mouthfeel was heavier too, medium to heavy body. All in all a delicious beer and I’d be glad to have it again.

750ml bottle. Poured a beautiful glowing clear copper/orange with a minimal cream colored head. Spicy toffee malt and mild alcohol aromas, almost like bourbon, but not as strong or oaky, with some trailing yeast scents after swirling. Off-sweet caramel and spice flavors---citrus peel, coriander, nutmeg? Very smooth and subtly sweet/mild spice on the finish. Quite enjoyable. I especially like the fact that I found this at the local supermarket.

Sweet and malty, thick, very lightly perfume-like. When I got down to the yeasty goodness, I was really interestingly pleased with the flavor. Good big ass beer to drink while watching Kevin Smith Strikes Back!

At the 2007 Big Beer, Belgians, & Barleywines Festival in Vail. Pours amber with a thick large-bubbled of white head. Aroma of strong malt graininess. Mild perfume-like hops in the aroma. Strong sweetness to the flavor. Medium to thick mouthfeel. Very good beer.

This beer poured a copper amber color and formed a nice bubbly white head. A good amount of tiny bubble carbonation is present. An aroma of malt and cinnamon. A flavor of malt and caramel, with a decent amount of sweetness to a medium body. Slightly astrigent finish.

330ml brown bottle. Amber colour, big tan head. Some floaties. Aroma is malty, caramelly with some yeast. Flavour is similarly caramel, fairly sweet and malty, faint fruitiness and faint alcohol prescense. Yeasty, dry finish. Fine prickly carbonation, body is full.
