I probably last drank Kwak in the excellent Malt Shovel in Northampton, though have also sampled it, with ridiculous authentic glass, in a Belgian nightclub playing euro-electronica. One of these venues was largely populated by what my wife would call "geography teacher types" - can you guess which? I also recall persuading some work colleagues to sample this in aforementioned UK pub, resulting in their eyes popping out. Stick to the Carlsberg chaps!
Anyway, what is it like? Clear, nice colour that you would choose from a wood-based furniture colour palette. Little aroma, medium bodied. Just very tasty, sweet, malty, brown sugar. Recommended.

This is -i think- one of my fav from the RED ones. Really unique taste and effects. Somehow hard to get anywhere in Greece and expensive, but it’s always worthy. Very tasty and strong. And i love the Glass too. Cheers !

Copper to red with off-white head. Initial taste quite sweet with faint bitterness. Nose of dried fruits, malt and yeast. Sustained soft carbonation. Warming finish.

From 33cl bottle. Deep brown, small off white head. Beautiful aroma of clove, orange, almost linen. Taste is milder than the 8% strength would suggest, with nice balance of butter, clove with woody notes and aftertaste of caramel. A beautiful beer.

Pours a clear brown with a big white head. Aroma: Nice bready malt. Sweet malt begin, middle is mild and warm alcohol with some hints of cantaloupe. Balances off with nice, mild hop bitter that numbs the tongue a bit. Medium bodied with a slick texture and average carbonation. Overall, a really nice, sweeter amber.

Appearance: Deep nutty brown color with a fine tan head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Fruity and malty with some spices.
Palate: Medium + body. Moderate bitterness and a rich sweetness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Slightly sweet malty, banana and fruity. Some yeast and some spices.
Overall impression: Nice tasty ale.
Personal stats: Bottle from Systembolaget weborder. Also had this in Belgium. Felt a lot better in their special glass.

Bottle from Broom Hall Inn, near Stratford upon Avon. Colour is deep copper with an off-white head. Aroma is malty sweetness and that I like with Belgian beer. Taste is more towards the malt, caramel, with the alcohol not noticeable.
