Full-bodied Belgian Specialty Ale. Amber in color with beautiful foam and slightly sweet, seductive malt character. Rich, satisfying Belgian experience.

Poured from a bottle into Pauwel Kwak’s very special, gorgeous glass. (Google it) Heavy and sweet aroma. Caramel and nuts. Beautiful, dark amber colouring, with light brown head. Light, roasty taste of alcohol, coffee and ...hops(?). Little palate. Not impressive but I’ll gladly take another one... That glass though...

330ml, 8.4%. Dark ale with small head when poured that disappears quickly. Sweet and strong. Barley malt and hops are dominant flavours. Enjoyable

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 18E). AROMA: sweet malty aromas, reminiscent of caramel. no hop aromas. spicy alcohol notes. APPEARANCE: deep amber color and translucent. average tanned head with good retention. pronunced lacing. TASTE: sweet malty flavour with notes of caramel. very low bitterness with a sweet finish. PALATE: medium-light body with medium carbonation. some alcohol warmth. OVERALL: a belgian ale that is less complex than its competition.

Wat een geweldig bier is dit zeg. Zowel geen schuimkraag maar het kwakglas, de smaak en het bouquette maken dit voor mij een van mijn favorieten.

Medium transparent brown, strong beige head. Definite abbey cellar-dubbel on the nose. Taste - warming alcohol mixed with very distinct caramel malt and some cellar notes. Nice.

Poured from a bottle. Aromas of caramel with hints of apple. Pours a clear amber that looks great. A light sweet taste. Between medium and full bodied, with creamy texture, and slightly bitter finish. A really great Belgian Ale, rich and smooth.
