Amber-brown, off white head; aroma was a fairly standard malty affair; taste was nothing ordinary, however: very sweet malts, fruit, some spice, big in your face flavours; it doesn’t hide its power either; remember drinking this in a Belgo in the 90s and my only recollection was the gimmicky glass; this way exceeded my expectations.

Taste has nut, wood and some orange. Sour in the middle with a mild alcohol punch. Pleasant round woody aftertaste. Good solid body. Lively carbonation.

On tap at the Holy Grale. Murky dark amber pour with a kaki head. Sweet malty aromas. Caramel malt and brown sugar notes. Sweet, but not overly so. A tasty beverage for a cool fall night in the beer garden. Good body and mouthfeel.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle in Porter’s Cardiff, served in the Kwak glass (look like a pretentious pillock drinking from this in a rammed bar to be honest, but ho hum). Amber-brown in colour, nice big tan head. Has toffee, roasted malts, chocolate, cereal, raisin all there. Alcohol is present too. Sweet taste and an almost sticky mouthfeel, finish is toffee, molasses. This is one sweet beer. Medium-heavy body. An experience.

beautiful copper amber color. aroma of some herbs somehow reminds me of medicin or bathing foam. its not bad but tastes too much like candy to me. would try it another time.
