Rich amber color, off white head. Sweet smell of malts with some red fruits, caramel and spices, big malty taste, noticeable liquor-like alcoholic feeling. Some light orange in the finish.

His nose has a slight smell of banana (but none with the power of Orval) and citrus while appearing quite malty and slightly spicy. One has the impression to feel a Christmas beer. The soft and sweet mouth (adding sugar candy) is very malty and alcoholic marked by a discreet presence. The final (or rather the apotheosis for a beer of this quality) combines pleasantly bitter orange flavors and spices.

Lichtbruine kleur, bijna geen schuim. Aroma van caramel, beetje als wijn. Smaak is perfect in balans, beetje zoet, beetje bitter. Erg lekker.

Off-white head, clear and amber. Spicy alcohol smell. Tastes sweet, caramel, wood, peppery and of alcohol. Yeasty finish. Yea.

Bottle. Medium off white head. Rusty body. Crystal clear. Visible carbonation. Nose is wheat, spice, sweet malt, raspberry jam, soap suds, oak. Tangy with a little sourness. The taste is the key with this beer. Palate is kind of sweet and watery. Dry finish. A gradual warming of the body. For the price, and this site’s rating, bit of a let down, but still decent.

Tap in their funky glass, pours amber with a white head, tastes of caramel, malt, and light spiciness, good balance.

0,33l bootle filled with fanastic amber colour. Beer is medium carbonated, Delicat sweet palate after tast, in aroma there are some kind off fruits but I can’t exactly say what kind. Bitternes is very low, but thanks to it there is strong malt, fruit and sweet flavour in taste.

Amber pour, slightly hazy with yeast sediment. Big sticky off white head, good lacing. Spicy aroma, caramel, malt, some fruit. Taste is sweet with caramel flavours. Body is fairly thick, a little syrupy, minimal carbonation.

0.75 bottle, served in goblet. Great appearance with white and frothy head as well as deep orange/copper and amber color. Lots of yeast sediment keep floating, but it doesnt really matter for me. Aroma is classic: malty, caramel along with dried, sweet fruits and maybe some herbs. Medium bodied and mild bitterness, I love some sourness in aftertaste. However, its rather dominated by maltiness and sweetness. Finish is dissapointingly short. All in all, its a great, classic belgian choice, which always makes me wonder how >8% abv. beer is so easy to drink. If it werent strong, I would gladly have another one.
