Poured into a chalice. Dark brown but almost clear with almost no head. Smells like whole wheat bread and nothing else. Strong bread and yeast taste, which is fine. Alcohol taste comes in strong too. Smooth, medium body, low carbonation. An enjoyable drink.

caramel, cereal, resin, dough, alcohol, orange, brown, hazy, minimal head, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour, medium body, slick feel, soft carbonation, long finish. Balanced, fruity and a little bitterness, with a soft but long palate.

Reddish golden. Fruity and malty, with notes of banana, and plenty of spicy phenols. Full, sweetish taste, with very low bitterness and a somewhat pungent finish. Full body. Overall, a great belgian strong ale. Tasty, balanced, and more drinkable than Karmeliet, which I tried just before this one.

(Verkostung: 12.8.2016.)

Tap @ Fermentoren Aarhus. Aroma of caramel and overripe fruity esters, vinous. Clear brown amber with white head, mostly diminishing. Taste is moderate sweet and light bitter. More fruity caramel. Full body, oily feel, sweet finish.

Bonne bière, mousse légère, arômes multiples et parfois surprenant, niveau gustatif généreux. Globalement une bière sympathique

Bottle poured into the Kwak glass. Deep orange with a huge but fast dissipating head. Aroma is maybe a nit weak for a strong ale. Malt, caramel and spice. Mouthfeel is surprisingly thin. Taste is dominated by clove and malt with a real kick from the alcohol. Strong! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a rich brown from a bottle with a thick off-white head, probably as a result of dropping the bottle before opening it. Nice caramel and home-baked bread aroma, in the mouth I pick up some butterscotch and bubblegum, dark candi sugar shines through. Slight cherry aftertaste. A little boozy, but not burn your throat boozy. Very good beer.
