Poured into a chalice. Dark brown but almost clear with almost no head. Smells like whole wheat bread and nothing else. Strong bread and yeast taste, which is fine. Alcohol taste comes in strong too. Smooth, medium body, low carbonation. An enjoyable drink.

Bottle enjoyed at Jarmann Gastropub
Copper hazy, thin beige head. Smell of belgian yeast esters, caramel, banana and grassy hops. Medium sweet, malty, more caramel, fruity malts. Moderate bitter, grassy finish

Lekker, bijzonder bier. Volle smaak die ik niet goed kan beschrijven. Bijkomend is het mooie speciale glas. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Shared bottle. Pours is clear amber with some pieces of yeast/malt, unfiltered, with thick white head. Aroma of malts, belgian yeast, caramel, bisquit, fruit {peach or something}, bit toffee. Taste is sweet, malty and caramel. Light bitter and sweet finish, full body. This is my all time favourite belgian strong ale, complex, well ballanced and delightfull.

I really enjoy Kwak. It’s great any time but if you get the chance to drink out of the Kwak glass...well that’s just a whole other experience.

Beautiful experience. The beer pours a nice soft foam with a little brown tint. The beer is crystal clear. The color is light brown with a red touch. The smell is rather simple, not very strong. Little metal smell. The taste is incredible. Sweet, little bitterness, taste of almonds and maybe amaretto. There is also some lemon. One of the best brews in the world.

Bottle. Nose is butter scotch, some berry, banana, sweet malts. Taste is sweet malt, caramel, some fruity esters, banana, cloves, bread, dough. Mouthfeel is good. An exceptionally ordinary Belgian beer which gets more than it’s fair share of praise.

Poured a 75cl several times into a tulip, a style of glass where I too frequently let the foam get way ahead of me, particularly with these Belgians. Once the suds subsided, I discovered another sweet, yeasty, fruity brew, quite delightful. Raisins, Turkish apricots and plums predominate in a complex mix of flavors. Fortunate to drink this at about 50 degrees f., a good temp to bring out the flavors. I certainly wouldn’t care to make a night of drinking this, but as a treat, it is admirable.
