Full-bodied Belgian Specialty Ale. Amber in color with beautiful foam and slightly sweet, seductive malt character. Rich, satisfying Belgian experience.

The novalty of the glass ruins the fine aroma and taste of this Belgium beer. It poors with a thick head butt has a great after taste.

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2008 Pours a gorgeous amber orange colour with an impressive thick off white head. Aroma was quite sweet and somewhat malty with notes of yeast. Citrus, caramel, spice notes as well. I was happy to try it. Amazing and clever glass.....way to big to conceal on your way out of the bar.

Den har det hele en belgier skal have. Smag, belgisk gær og ikke mindst fylde i spriten.

This been for sure has an interesting traditional way of serving the beer. FO you that do not know, you place it in a small version of a yard glass with a wooden structure holding the glass in. There is a small bulb at the bottom the the glass. I was told the beer is called "quack" because if you drink it and do not turn the bulb you get a nice spash in the face from and air bubble (similar relsuts of a boot). Other than the glass the beer was not that bad IT had a great color, and head on top. The flavor was very malty, but the beer was clean. I had a good hops finish.

F: white nice head. C: very nice clear amber to copper. A: nice fruity and yeast aroma, apricots, peach, plums and malty too, and a hints of alcohol. T: lemon, grass, caramel malt, marzipan, spicy, alcohol on the palate, dry earthy tones in the finish, coriander and hops bitterness, nice one Belgian strong ale, I recommend sure to taste.

Tap at Antwaerps Bierhuyske. Served in the idiosyncratic glass Kwak is known for, which added to the experience. The taste is quite sweet, and the first sip reminds me of Tripel Karmeliet. There is a slight taste of alcohol in the back, not exactly pleasant. All in all not bad. I prefer Tripel Karmeliet, if that even is a sensible comparison.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2015 330cc bottle and also on tap. Pours Clear amber. I get caramel, butter, banana. Sweet all the way through. Finishes butter biscuits and caramel. The tap version feels less sweet.

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2005 The Kwak glass is so spiffy looking I had to buy one today, with the beer to go along. Pours a beautiful clear orange copper with a large foamy beige head shooting up the neck and dissipating gradually. I had fun watching the small bubbles rise from the bulb and up the unique shape of the glass. The aroma is of sweet toasty caramel with hints of nuts (peanut butter lightly makes an appearance). The roasted malts are emphasized in the flavor with lots of caramel and honey. Very smooth palate with a bitter and mildly alcoholic aftertaste. Leaves sparse lacing as you drink it. This beer is truly an experience of its own. I really enjoyed it!

This beer has a deep red colour with a thick head, which looks great. Aromas of plums and chocolate with faint notes of alcohol and yeast. The flavour is full, nicely roasted malt with a good hoppy note. The sweetness is not intrusive and the bitterness in the finish just about right - the alcohol is really well hidden!
