3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear orange, with a decent, but quickly dissipating head. This is almost cloyingly sweet, very malty, flavors of hard candy, caramel, maybe a touch of dark fruit. This is a decent beer, but for a strong ale, I would like to see a bit more balance.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from a bottle in to a tulip glass.
Amber-red in color with large head. Lots of lacing and bubbles. Good head retention.
Smell is sweet and malty. Banana and bubblegum.
Tastes very malty on the front with banana and possibly raisin. Molasses on the finish.
This was an enjoyable beer but doesn’t compete against other Belgians.
Not what I expected for being classified as a Belgian Strong Ale butI enjoyed this one.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
As a big fan of this style, I was excited to finally get this one in our state and bought one to try. While I didn't have the famous glass, I had one similar. My impressions were mixed; I maight tend to believe that I got an "aged" bottle after reading these other reviews. It just didn't seem as complex as some of the other Belgians and had almost no head, with almost a sour taste. That being said, it was pretty good, although not my favorite of the style.

Famous for its glass. Malty, hoppy, something bitter.
