The aroma has a lot of banana and cloves. The appearance is thick and dark. The banana flavor continues in the taste. There is a light malty backbone.

Pours deep copper almost red with little head retention. The aroma has toffee caramel, slightly alcoholic and a hint of licorice. the flavour is quite smooth although a little on the thin side, the beer is well attenuated and slightly astringent later...over all a pleasant beer.

I will have to rerate this because the brew accidentally got partially frozen and I don’t want to rate a bad sample.

33cl bottle, clear amber color, medium white head, caramel and yeast aroma with spices and raisins notes, sweet malt flavor, medium to full body, finish with some hops, pleasant and balanced but standard belgian ale

Tapped in Los v Oslo. Glass is really interesting. But the beer itself is good as well. Light brown color, thin yellowish not really stable head. Aroma of malt and caramel. You can smell some points of alcohol as well - the beer is pretty strong. Bitter and medium finish, a lot of alcohol in the taste. Nice one, although a bit strong.

I just love that glass. Copper colour with a big head. Some sweetness in the smell, some caramel. Little ester smell, maybe banana. Sweet round taste, some bitterness. Possibly syrup and yeast in the taste. Some soft taste that could be banana. Due to the shape of the glass the first part the beer was rather smooth, but in the end there was a little too much carbonation.

Bright copper in colour. Super head which was frothy yet had much texture (although didn’t last). If you let this beer linger slightly in your mouth you will pick up a most wonderful toffee flavour. Quite hoppy for a beer of this nature as well. Kind of reminded me of Hoegaarden Forbidden Fruit only better all round. Very impressed.

First off the story alone for the glass is great. Pours an amber color with a white head. The nose has hints of a sweetness, malt and apricot. The flavor is a sweet malty raisin, a touch of stone fruit/plum, toffee. Overall a really delicious beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Belle ambrée, puissante et ronde, de beaux arômes équilibrés entre sucre, houblon et fruité. Très bonne bière apéritive.

Excellent belgian ale. Beautiful colour. Has a medium sweet flavour to it, not as sweet as La Chouffe. Don’t forget to take the glass and holder home with you.
