For Lovers!!!!

33cl bottle@Belgian hotel bar in Kwak glass@approx 10 degrees C. Pours almost orange with off white head in the peculiar glass, which did actually do a kwak sound at the appropriate moment. Aroma of malt, caramel and dark fruit. Taste is predominantly malty and sweet, with caramel and spice kept in check by fresher, fruitier notes. Aftertaste full, malty and hoppy, signalling that this is not just a gimmick beer but a genuinly good and serious Belgian brew.

Perhaps I didn’t pour this correctly as there was a lot of yeasty flakes floating in this. I drank it anyway as it tasted OK. Caramel at first sip, smoothing out to make a high alcoholic finish. Nice, I’ll have to try this again as I think the flakes of yeast subtracted from the brew.

This beer has a deep red colour with a thick head, which looks great. Aromas of plums and chocolate with faint notes of alcohol and yeast. The flavour is full, nicely roasted malt with a good hoppy note. The sweetness is not intrusive and the bitterness in the finish just about right - the alcohol is really well hidden!

In mine I noticed hints of oats and some what of a bread like taste? The body was almost a light chocolate color, and I agree it was slighty sweet with a citrusy/dry finish. Very smooth and quite drinkable, this was a very good ale.

Pours a dark amber, decent sized white head for 8% ABV, nice fine lacing. Sweetness and fruit in the aroma. Very sweet, with a nicely done alcohol finish.
