Very nice beer, was served in a pub in a Kwak glass (which looks like something from a lab)

750 mL bottle. Pours burnt orange with a one finger off white head into a tulip. Aroma of typical Belgian yeast, light spice, apricots, bready malts, grass. Very yeasty flavor, apricots are the only fruit noticeable. Bready malt, flavor has a chewy aspect to it. Slight spicy (not clove). Light to medium bodied with a frothy mouthfeel and a low-medium level of carbonation. Not overly complex, but quite tasty and refreshing.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours cloudy brown, nice beige head that dissipates failry quickly but leaves a halo and some legs. Nice medium to heavy bodied mouthfeel, with aromas of malts, and sugar. I get some dark fruit, a little bit of orange peel, tartness, and alcohol notes. A sweet beer that finishes dry and grainy. Some bitterness as well, but not consistently. This is a very nice Belgian ale, not too acute, and with a decent ABV to enjoy with dinner or dessert. Tasted @ 55F.

1.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle 330ml It has a really strong aroma of caramel, toffee burnt sweets, and a little fruitiness in there too. It pours with a thin off white head that vanishes quickly over a dark ruby brown body. Its a weird taste that really isnt my thing. It has the burnt toffee and caramel with a slight fruitiness and a overpowering sweetness you would expect from a 8.4%er. I have 3 more of these that might just end up as gifts.

Clássica breja belga, com seu copo característico. Essa golden Strong ale tem cor cobre, com aroma furtado intenso. No paladar, notas de pao, frutas amarelas, cravo, algo cítrico. Corpo denso, final frutado, alcoólico e duradouro. Ótima breja!

To much waffle on this beer. Standard Euro drop. Smells good, Broad tones over the mid-tongue, quick on the tip... reasonably fast. We like it! God purchase. A little residue scorchy wax in the palette. But a very quick conditioning

this beer looks just how a belgian style ale should look, misty and a brown amber, the taste follows very nicely

UPDATED: APR 19, 2011 33cl bottle poured in the authentic Kwak glass. Clear sparkling amber color with a beige head that leaves some very nice lacing. The pouring is art itself when you see the head settle and the beer rising. Beatiful! Aroma is full of fine malts with some caramel. Taste is very malty with a nice banana and a caramel taste. In the end there is some little bitterness. The mouthfeel is great and is very soft with good carbonisation. Very nice brew!

Tap. Pours a nice amber with ecru head. A little more mild than other belgians. Doesn’t seem to be quite as complex as other belgians, but still good. There was a distinct musty sweetness that the Kwak had. Overall, I have to try some more to get really used to the style.
