Full-bodied Belgian Specialty Ale. Amber in color with beautiful foam and slightly sweet, seductive malt character. Rich, satisfying Belgian experience.

Fruity, spicy nose, maybe bananas or pineapple, with not a whole lot of head in the glass (yes THE glass). It tastes typical to me, along the lines of some of Unibroue’s brews, which I like very much. This was a bit sweeter than some, and it did warm going down due to the 8 percent ABV. It became much more flavorful as it warmed. I didn’t like it cold, straight from the fridge. It’s a little thick and syrupy for me, but overall a nice Belgian. I will try it again.

Multiple tries, draft and botte so I’ll summarize. Had a lively copper hugh to it, slightly cloudy, with an off-white small head. Aroma filled with yeast, floral hops, caramel malts, some fruit, sugar and honey. Flavor nearly identical, but some added grains and spices come out towards then end of the drink. Medium bodied, sweet most the way through, changes to a bitter dry finish. Nice spice combination, good brew, and the appropriate bitter finish. Enjoy it.

Bottle, 0.33l. Copper color, suprisingly average head. Clear. Aroma: some grass, dates, raisins, caramel. In flavor. Full body. More on sweet side. In flavor date, honey notes. Overall: very good beer. Probably, my favorite brewery.

Had a few swigs of this at some party in Newtown from some guy's bottle who'd taken an E and smoked some wicked Js and was sick of his B(eer). It is really really malty and rounded with some rye I reckon. It was pretty flat, but I dunno where the bottle'd been so don't hold me to that. The alcohol was pretty mild contrary to what all you wimps have said below. I like it.

750ml bottle. Treacle coloured body, honey and malt combined with alcohol in the nose. Smooth palate, flavours of demeiera sugar with rum, honey, malt and currents. Long sweet and alcohol finish. Loads better than I expected, the gimmicky glass puts me off ordering in bars.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2008 Cloudy red/orange colour with lots of sediment. A long-lasting medium sized off-white head. Nice lacing. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Sweet malt and fruity flavours. Dry and slightly bitter finish. A very nice drop! 330ml brown bottle.

Bottle. Light amber with pale white head. Malty aroma. Very aromatic malt, probably from large percentage of munich malt. Some spicy phenolics of vanilla complemented by apples. Slight cidery, apple flavor with toasted and biscuity malt. Not much caramel. Pronounced sugary cider feeling from use of high percentage candy sugar. Nice, but with a somewhat cheap feeling to it.

Light amber gold body with a small white head. Aroma of peaches and yeast. Flavor was nice, if not terribly complex. I tasted peaches, green grapes, and yeast. Very drinkable, but not in the class of the great Belgian Stong Ales.

Pours cloudy brown, nice beige head that dissipates failry quickly but leaves a halo and some legs. Nice medium to heavy bodied mouthfeel, with aromas of malts, and sugar. I get some dark fruit, a little bit of orange peel, tartness, and alcohol notes. A sweet beer that finishes dry and grainy. Some bitterness as well, but not consistently. This is a very nice Belgian ale, not too acute, and with a decent ABV to enjoy with dinner or dessert. Tasted @ 55F.
