3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: Pours a reddish copper color with a large tan head. It is very murky and lots of carbonation can be seen streaming up from the bottom.
Smell: Sweet and sour at the same time. I get grapes, sour apple, and honey.
Taste: Much like the smell it is sweet and sour with apples bringing the sour flavors and the grapes providing the sweetness. The alcohol really comes through in the finish.
Mouthfeel/drinkability: Medium bodied with crisp carbonation. The only disappointment is the aftertaste really falls flat.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
caramel, bread, citrus, dough, butterscotch, amber, clear, frothy, light sweetness, lightly bitter, astringent, average carbonation, creamy, light body
Was hoping that there would be a good beer here, and not just a gimmicky glass presentation - was not disappointed!
A light Belgian yeast/fruit aroma with sweet/dry taste and a light caramel finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I poured this into a snifter from an 11.2 ounce bottle. Kwak was a cloudy burnt orange in color. It formed about a half inch of a light tan head that lasted a minute or two and left some nice lacing as it receded. The lacing becomes spottier as the glass drains. There is a nice covering of foam across the surface for the entire time once the head is gone.
There is a citrus aroma with caramel notes.
It has a crisp upfront taste with hints of citrus; grapefruit perhaps. If you let it warm in your mouth there are some nice malt flavors; molasses and caramel. Finishes with a nice clean citrus flavor and leaves just a touch of sweetness. It seems well balanced to me and hides the 8% ABV very well.
It has a medium body and feels creamy on the palate.
This one is good. I want more.
Also, this is a dangerous one. Kwak has a great taste and no hint of the 8% ABV on the palate, but on the grey matter thatís another story.

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from bottle into a snifter. Aroma of bananas and yeast. Appearance is a clear golden amber with a 1 finger light tan head that dissipates quickly. Taste is semi sweet malt and banana. Some booze as well. Palate is very smooth. Overall an excellent beer. Cheers.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours medium carbonation red-amber with present foamy head- like styrofoam. Rick pink color with lazy but high amount of carbonation. Aroma- fruit hops- light citrus, banana, clove, slight yeast- smells like a hefe. Grass hop and tangy start, to middle of cleaning product (like wood polish), wheaty/barley sweet banana/clove. End- like sweet raisins, cedar wood. End continues without change to aftertaste. Almost sits on the roof of the mouth in the end with a sting that is almost high alcohol like a wood cleaner. The end is overpowering, I wish the beginning and middle lasted longer, as theyíre quite pleasant. The end is too... attentive for my tastes. Almost vinegar-esque. Itís an interesting taste I canít quite place. Very unique. Was expecting saison or barley wine-like, and got a mix of hefe and barley wine.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at My Place, Newtown, CT. Have to disagree with Oakes on this one. Found it enjoyable, no matallic or sweat. A bit of spice, nothing too distinguishable though. But can anybody explain the origins of the funky glass?

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
The draft at Sharp Edge comes in this crazy test tube container witha rounded bottom. The thing wonít stand up on itís own so thereís a wooden stand to keep it locked upright. The whole contraption looks a little girly so I just get it in a regular glass. Ruby in color with an orange nose. Spicy and sweet with a malty finish. great dessert beer.
