Poured deep orange/amber color with a mid to small head. Fruity aroma mixed with malt-like overtone. Sweet finish that left a great taste.

a good beer in a very special glass, but there is much more! a defect? I expected more from head: too "explosive" and just a little persistent.

Bought myself the Kwak gift set with a glass and four bottles. I'd had this before in Australia in a regular glass and in Belgium in the real glass.
Takes a bit of practice to pour right - I didn't do as well this time as last and didn't get enough head. Dark amber red, good lacing on the glass.
Smells of dark fruits, cherries with a sweet funk too. It hints at the famous caramel and toffee.
Taste is sweet toffee and fruity brandy. Nicely malty and a bit of a pleasant alcohol warmth at the end.
Not the strongest mouthfeel. The sweet flavours mature and warm on the palate.
Actually a much better beer than I remembered; I've even heard it be called 'unremarkable' before! Every bit the Flanders beer. Uses the same Bosteels house yeast as the Karmeliet. Always worth getting in the real glass if you can ever get it!

A large charm of this beer comes from a very special hourglass that this beer is served. Luckily I have that particular glass to enjoy the beer as its authentic style. Foam is very strong. A bit red brown beer with a very sweet aroma. Also taste includes a lot of sweetness but not too much. Nice beer to enjoy.

A must try even if it isnt really a fantastic beer but still very good allround.
A bit special amber tripel like beer
Seville orange, a bit sweet, caramel, a hint of banana & plum.
Nice with smorgasbord or plain fare

Fruity aroma, frothy white head, very flat palate, medium bodied with complex flavors. Fun to drink because of the little wooden holder. Nice brew.

Poured into Kwak glass at home. I had this on tap in belgium, but it transported well to Florida. Big creamy head that disappeared quickly during the pour. Beautiful amber color and a hint of bananas, my wife smelled cherries in her glass just to let you know how exact a science this is. The taste was fruity, again bananas and something else tropical. There was no hint of alcohol and the aftertaste hung around for just the write amount of time.
Oh yeah there is a forum thread somewhere about the glass. No gimmick just good design.

Bottle, poured in tulip glass dark amber/orange with a rich white head and medium carbonation. Aroma is rich of honey yeast and caramel which has a smooth and velvety palate. Taste is impressive with rich fruit and caramel and gives a long warmth after drinking. Great balance of fruit flavours and sweetness, one of my favourites.

This beer will make you go kwak, kwak. I enjoyed this one in it's traditional wooden handle flute style glass. although the aroma wasn't impressive, the appearance awed me. it's thick head complimented it's clear brown color. Flavors of malts and caramel came out. A good balance of hops and a light sweet finish. probably, one of the best everyday beer due to it's 8% alcohol and filtered style. A good one to start with if your experimenting with Belgians.
