Full-bodied Belgian Specialty Ale. Amber in color with beautiful foam and slightly sweet, seductive malt character. Rich, satisfying Belgian experience.

Pours medium carbonation red-amber with present foamy head- like styrofoam. Rick pink color with lazy but high amount of carbonation. Aroma- fruit hops- light citrus, banana, clove, slight yeast- smells like a hefe. Grass hop and tangy start, to middle of cleaning product (like wood polish), wheaty/barley sweet banana/clove. End- like sweet raisins, cedar wood. End continues without change to aftertaste. Almost sits on the roof of the mouth in the end with a sting that is almost high alcohol like a wood cleaner. The end is overpowering, I wish the beginning and middle lasted longer, as they’re quite pleasant. The end is too... attentive for my tastes. Almost vinegar-esque. It’s an interesting taste I can’t quite place. Very unique. Was expecting saison or barley wine-like, and got a mix of hefe and barley wine.

Bottiglia.

Cloudy Brown, Malty nose. Fair chunk of toasted malt in the taste as well. Not sure I’d cal this one complex though. what you smell is pretty much what you get.

Poured into the traditional mini yard glass, on tap. A finger of head comprised of largish bubbles retreated slowly to leave sparse lacing. Appearance is a nice amber with constantly streams of bubbles. Nose is heavy with malt - sweet, slightly smoky, bananas. First taste is quite sweet with significant alcohol. Hops are floral and balance the sweetness well, especially on subsequent sips. Banana flavor is very mellow and barely noticeable. Mouthfeel consists of significant bubbles without much aftertaste. Quite smooth. Alcohol hangs in the back of the throat. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice malty, citrusy, slightly woody, musty aroma. Intriguing. Color is a clear amber with good carbonation and a tight tan head. Taste is at first malty. Slighty citrusy with some musty character as well, and that is good in this type of beer. Some woody notes in the taste too. Malt takes over in the end and the finish is warming from the alcohol. A nice warming beer on a cool, drizzly fall Minnesota day.

UPDATED: JUL 11, 2012 from bottle straight into the original kwak glass. pours a clear dark amber colour and a white frothy head. sweet malty aromas of honey, caramell and dark fruits, some yeasty banana touch as well. medium to full body, really smooth mouthfeel and average carbonation. pleasent honey and toffee flavours mixed with sweet dark fruit flavours. as other reviewers mentioned it is fantastically balanced and easy to drink!

Hazy, orangeish amber color. Malty/yeasty aroma. Its cloudy, and doesn't pour with a typical belgian head. It is balanced overall with sour notes of fruit, only a little on the hoppy side. An unusual beer in it's class. A beer I easily return to.

This beer poured a copper amber color and formed a nice bubbly white head. A good amount of tiny bubble carbonation is present. An aroma of malt and cinnamon. A flavor of malt and caramel, with a decent amount of sweetness to a medium body. Slightly astrigent finish.
