3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Head: light beige, medium, frothy to creamy, poor to avg. retention. Colour: amber-brown, clear if poured carefully, hazy otherwise.
Aroma: some floral hops upfront, but disappear in a moment; strong caramel, dried fruit, roasty, bit of alcohol.
Taste: caramel, roasted, spicy, slightly bitter.
Quite in the mainstream of belgian strong dark ales.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a hazy dark copper to red body with an off-white head that laces the glass well. Quite strong aroma with pleasant notes of Belgian yeast, spices, honey and dust. There flavours are a bit too weak and is too much dominated by alcohol. There are however nice notes of Belgian yeast, spices and in the back there are dried fruits, vanilla and caramel. Moderate sweet and moderate bitter taste. Medium body, dry texture and moderate carbonation. Without the Kwak glass this is a quite ordinary Belgian strong ale, IMHO.

The first thing that stands out is the unique glass in wich it is served. It is amber colored with a lasting off-white head. medium carbonation. Fruit and malts in the taste with a slightly sweet aftertaste a great beer to drink on an entire night.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark apple cider with an eggshell off white creamy head that lingers. Aroma is fairly light, bread, yeast and banana. Mouthfeel is pleasantly lighter than I expected, with small but lively carbonation. Taste is on the sweeter side: sweet rolls, apple, banana with a slight honey undertone. Aftertaste is very light and pleasantly sweet. Very high drink ability here.
