Full-bodied Belgian Specialty Ale. Amber in color with beautiful foam and slightly sweet, seductive malt character. Rich, satisfying Belgian experience.

I have not had a Kwak in about 5 years. Just purchased a 750 ML bottle at Beverages, & More! in Pleasanton, CA. I will say however, I remember the beer having a bit more character than now. Mind you, the bottle I am tasting as I write this is still of very high quality. This beer is a classic as noted by the late, great Michael Jackson. This is one of those Belgian ales that characterizes what a "Belgian" beer should taste like. Nice fluffy off white head. The bouquet is caramel. Now the entry is where I feel the ale was lacking a bit from what I remembered. Taste is figs, prunes, with a good hop balance. Aftertaste is slightly dry with a nutty flavor. I was still pleased, overall. Cheers, mate!

Drinking from a 33cl bottle. In the aroma cream, caramel. The unclear orange beer has a medium white head. In the taste a bit sweet, oranges Medium carbonated.

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2016 A clear amber colour with a frothy white head. Looks impressive in its customised glass. A grainy malt caramel aroma; a liitle fruit and grass. A sweet malt caramel taste; some dried fruit, woody spiciness and a crisp slightly dry finish.

Illata karamellás, kissé gyümölcsös. Színe mint a tölgyfahordóban érlelt whiskié, gyönyörű, átlátszó, vörösesbarna. Nagy habja krémes és sűrű. Az egyik legfinomabb sör. Rendkívül kiegyensúlyozott ízvilág. Erős karamella íz, pici komlós keserűsséggel, mindkettő sokáig megmarad. Enyhe édeskés gyümölcsösség. Kifejezetten testes.

No information about the hops and malts in detail but you must drink this beer in a Kwak glass. Nice amber cloudy beer with very good cappuccino head, light sweet, thin texture, medium body, banana, yeast is very dominant, nice finish, compare a little with Leffe (I have a 0.33l bottle with best-before 27/01/2018 29 02:33)

Le classique de la bičre ambrée belge. Carbonatation harmonieuse. On est sur la noisette, le grillé. C’est équilibré juste, trčs long en bouche. Une incontournable du genre.

Bottle at The George, Croydon. Had this plenty of times pre-rating days. It pours clear deep amber - brown with a thick, foamy white head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, banoffie pie, banana split, toffee, toasted brown bread, apple/pear and some alcohol. The taste is crisp, bitter, boosty alcohol, brown bread, apple pie, pear, candied fruits, cereal, fruit cake and varnished wood with a dry, woody finish. Medium + body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Drinks way easier than it should! Still a pretty decent beverage after all these years.
