Commercial Description:
Full-bodied Belgian Specialty Ale. Amber in color with beautiful foam and slightly sweet, seductive malt character. Rich, satisfying Belgian experience.

750ml bottle at Vol de Nuit in nyc. Terribly unimpressed by this belgian ale. For the style, which is a hit for me, is sadly as generic as they come, overly sugary some cherries. But no real complexity to over shadow 8%, dry finish. Very disappointed.

Pours a clear orange, with a decent, but quickly dissipating head. This is almost cloyingly sweet, very malty, flavors of hard candy, caramel, maybe a touch of dark fruit. This is a decent beer, but for a strong ale, I would like to see a bit more balance.

This beer is all caramel...dark caramel color, sweet caramel aroma, and extremely sugary flavor. All malt...really nothing else. Wish there was more depth in this one...the spice is non-existent.

Bottle.33cl. head fades almost instantly. nice rich amber colour, belgian spices on nose, sweet malts as well. Highly carbonated. A oak aged character.

Bottle. Lord Rodney, Keighley. Dark and fruity with strong, sweet caramel on the first hit and the alcohol makes its presence felt immediately. A hint of toffee in the finish with the faintest whiff of banana. Has a real kick to it. Definately not a session beer, but very drinkable nonetheless.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 27 Sep 2008) Dark amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with caramel, dried fruit and apricots. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, candy sugar and caramel. Low bitterness, rather sweet. Decent beer, but not overly exciting.
