grant (763), Martinez, California, USA Apr 23, 2008 Gotta love the serving apparatus. Amber color with lots of effervescence. Moderately intense cereal aroma, some yeast fruitiness. Sweet and lightly sour malty flavor, some caramel notes. Not terribly nuanced, but pleasant.
cab (759), Denmark Oct 9, 2008 Bottle.33cl. head fades almost instantly. nice rich amber colour, belgian spices on nose, sweet malts as well. Highly carbonated. A oak aged character. Albert_campion (4), , Greater London, England does not count Oct 7, 2008 Bottle. Lord Rodney, Keighley. Dark and fruity with strong, sweet caramel on the first hit and the alcohol makes its presence felt immediately. A hint of toffee in the finish with the faintest whiff of banana. Has a real kick to it. Definately not a session beer, but very drinkable nonetheless. Svesse (1811), Hässelby, Sweden Oct 5, 2008 (Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 27 Sep 2008) Dark amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with caramel, dried fruit and apricots. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, candy sugar and caramel. Low bitterness, rather sweet. Decent beer, but not overly exciting. JonnyDr (112), , South Yorkshire, England Sep 30, 2008 Updated: Oct 10, 2008Deep copper coloured pour with nice quickly diminishing head. Aroma of malt and caramel. Starts with caramel, banana and moves to malt as the alcohol comes through. Creamy toffee aftertaste. Limited complexity? Agreed, but a pleasant drink nonetheless. lumpsowers (87), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA Sep 30, 2008 Perhaps I didn’t pour this correctly as there was a lot of yeasty flakes floating in this. I drank it anyway as it tasted OK. Caramel at first sip, smoothing out to make a high alcoholic finish. Nice, I’ll have to try this again as I think the flakes of yeast subtracted from the brew.
