Pours a bright amber/brown color with a small off white head. Sweet malty aromas and flavors consisting of caramel and spices. Sweet finish and medium-bodied. A pretty nice beer.

Bottle poured into the Kwak glass. Deep orange with a huge but fast dissipating head. Aroma is maybe a nit weak for a strong ale. Malt, caramel and spice. Mouthfeel is surprisingly thin. Taste is dominated by clove and malt with a real kick from the alcohol. Strong! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a rich brown from a bottle with a thick off-white head, probably as a result of dropping the bottle before opening it. Nice caramel and home-baked bread aroma, in the mouth I pick up some butterscotch and bubblegum, dark candi sugar shines through. Slight cherry aftertaste. A little boozy, but not burn your throat boozy. Very good beer.

330ml bottle. Poured a pretty clear amber colour, light reddish hue. Has a bit of foamy head but doesn’t last long. Aromas are very subtle, mostly dry fruits, yeast, and a bit of spices. Flavours are a bit on the smokey side, roasted malts, hints of caramel and nuts. Slight yeasty mouthfeel. Mildly bitter. Alcohol is just noticeable enough, well balanced. Average carbonation, and good lacing. Really good stuff, but will someday have to try in appropriate glass.

Deze klassieker is zeer aan te raden. Mooi bier dat nog beter smaakt uit het bijbehorende glas!

From tap in real Kwak glass. Nice nose and appearance in dark amber and with malty notes. Taste is sweet and malty with almost raisins on the tounge. Palate is also sweet with fruityness and some very light hops.

Bottle to tulip. Clear copper with minimal white head. Malt dominates the aroma and flavor. Rich and full.

Olhão 18/7 2016. 33 cl bottle from Continente Modelo Supermarket. Drawing on the label of the infamous Pauwel Kwak holding his Kwak glass which should be used when drinking this Kwak beer. Unfortunately I do not have a Kwak glass. Must settle for a San Miguel glass (I know I hereby commit a hereby). Pours slightly hazy dark amber with big white head. Settles as thick creamy white Crown of foam several centimeters thick. Aroma is quite intense with Belgian yeast, caramel, banana, a little citrus and a whiff of lemonade. Soft carbonation and thick creamy palate. Flavor is well on the sweet side being sugary and candylike. Quite fruity aftertaste with a tart sour edge. Also a nice edge of alcohol. My only objection is that the bottle only holds 33 cl. Truly a nice Belgian - with a fantastic name. Kwak, Kwak.

Bottle - Hazy orange colour, medium, stable white head. Great fruity and yeasty nose with some apple, candy, peach, raisins and bubble gum. Taste is sweet fruity with brown sugar, peach, apple, plum, some spicy twist, cloves, low hop bitterness, alcohol is well disguised. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, oily and velvety mouthfeel, rich malty finish. Outstanding belgian strong ale, highly recommended.
