1.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 jodah52 (205) - USA - NOV 2, 2009
Opened the bottle, and out came sludge. They basically bottled a yeast cake and sold it to me for $5. Talk about manufacturing errors. Smelled good, but I couldn’t try it like that. Maybe I’ll try it again sometime, if I feel like risking another $5.

Brown, very good head. Aroma of raisins and dried dark fruit. The taste is dark fruit and raisins again with a sour hint of cranberry. The finish is a bit sweet, reminding me of molasses.

Malty kind of taste with some cereal, quite well rounded with a yeasty palate, everyone knows this beer because of the glass it comes in which adds to the experience

Buona strong ale, caratterizzata dal particolare bicchiere in cui viene servita...una delle prime birre di avvicinamento all’artigianale...mitica!
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 shoulderbroken (357) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 9, 2012
Bottle at a tasting at the White Horse. Amber coloured with beige creamy head. Aroma is caramel, yeasty sweet, bit of dark fruit. Taste is lots of caramel, some fruitiness, more creaminess and a bit of malty sweetness. Always better than I remember it being, but at the same time, never as exciting as it could be.

First off the story alone for the glass is great. Pours an amber color with a white head. The nose has hints of a sweetness, malt and apricot. The flavor is a sweet malty raisin, a touch of stone fruit/plum, toffee. Overall a really delicious beer.

ottima birra, molto equilibrata con un piacevolissimo gusto dolce...schiuma consistente anche se non molto persistente. Nasconde alla perfezione il suo elevato grado alcolico!

Located this at Redstone Liquors in Stoneham, Mass. Paid under $10 for a 750ml of it. Reminded me greatly of the time I spent in Brussels last year and how accessible yet tasty this beer was.
A - Poured a very huge malty head of about 5 fingers into a Duvel Tulip. The head itself was a deep tan color. The beer is dark brown to amber in color
S - Bread, malt, honey, caramel and some creaminess
T - Some hints of citrus but this is a standard bready / yeast filled beer. Lots of bread, very deep and rich. I’m getting some roasted aspects from the malt and some wood notes
M - Very carbonated but not extreme. Swishing the beer around in my mouth yields about 70% foam and the rest remains liquid. Easy to drink
O - Delicious. I wouldn’t seek this beer our regularly but it’s a decent belgian ale that’s not Jupiler whih is always good.
