Bottle. Called Oatmeal Stout. Nice chocolate and roasted aroma and taste. A bit thin in body for a stout. Wouldn’t buy again.

Bottle to snifter (shared with the Mrs.). Looks good; black with foamy beige head. Smells and tastes solid; oatmeal and dark malt with notes of roast and chocolate. Good on the palate too with a fairly dry finish. A good example of the style.

Tap sample. Poured a dark brown color with an average brown frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium complex dark toasted chocolate aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted chocolate sweet flavor with a medium to heavy toasted dark chocolate sweet finish of moderate duration. This is a solid brew.

Good taste. Very distanctive. It wasn’t over powering, a very good blend of flavors

On tap at Paw Paw brewery. Served in a sampler glass. Pours near-black with a nice tan head and some lacing on the way down. The nose has a nice, rich sweetness along with a bit of roasted malt and mild chocolate. Very nice. The flavor has a nice depth with sweetness that isn’t over the top along with quite a bit of malt flavor. Nice chocolate component. Medium-full body with a nice chewiness. Very nice brew.

Draft at Shakespeare’s kzoo. Very faint aroma. Completely opaque body. Thin, tan head. Nice lace. Dry. Solid brew. No flaws. More flavor than Guinness. Pretty good brew and impressive for a small brewery.

On draught at the microbrewery taproom in Paw Paw, Michigan. Pours an opaque dark brown colored brew with a beige/tan head that has some nice retention and excellent lacing. Aroma of toasted dark malt, some Bakers chocolate, some black malt and floral hops. Taste is medium bodied, flavors of toasted chocolate malt, floral hops and a touch of vanilla. Finish continues the toasted malt aftertaste, some short mild bitterness and a disappearing vanilla flavor. A solid sweet stout overall.

tap at hopcat. pours black with medium beige head. aroma of milky chocolate, roasted malt, and coffee. flavor much of the same with some toasted malt and bitterness. creamy palate.
