Bottle @ THT May, courtesy of me, thnx to Boisebeerguy for sending me this! Pours a pitch black beer with a small beige head on top. Aroma of massive caramel fudge, vanilla, bourbon booze, barrel characters,. Amazing aroma, very complex. Flavor has loads of booze, caramel, bourbon flavors. Big barrel characters going on here. Very nice brew!!

Bottle shared by MrHangover @ The Hague Tasting. Opaque dark black color, small brown head. Aroma is malts, slightly a hint of hops, nicely barrel aged, wood, caramel. Taste malts, wood, caramel, cognac, a hint of sweetness, but a bice subtle bitterness in the finish. I love the barrel coming through so clearly yet so subtle. Very nice.

Poured deep dark brown with a disappearing tan head. Aroma is vinous, meaty, fudge and caramel malt. Medium to full body, flavour is smooth fudge, dark fruit. Nice.

22oz bottle black with no real head to speak of. Sweet smooth roasty aromas. Notes of chocolate and licorice. Slick soft palate and logs of sweet caramels flavors again. Very tasty. Modest barrell aged flavors and quite subtle bitterness.

(Note: Contacted Payette to make sure that this version, which has been showing up around town in 22oz bottles, is indeed different than their normal 12 Gauge, which already has an entry.) Dark, syrupy brown with a very small, light brown head. The dominant flavor here is the bourbon, and its a little hot, but there is a strong enough profile of dark roastiness to balance it out. Really terrific imperial stout. My favorite beer from Boise Ive tried so far.
