Well payette brewery is not not on the bottom of my boise brewery lists. That is now that crooked fence is out. This beer should be called their pale ale, and their pale ale an ale. Maybe I have been spoiled by all the other good IPAís out there, but this one did not make me feel satisfied in the end. Guess Ill be sticking with sockeye and tablerock for the time being.

Bottle. Mango, pineapple, caramel malt, and grapefruit peel aroma. Hazy dark golden yellow with nice light tan head. Moderately sweet orange/pineapple, caramel malt, and and moderately bitter grapefruit peel flavor. Good body. Nice fruity flavor but hops a bit subdued.

Can from The Beer Junction, Seattle
Hazy golden color, small head. Some cereal aroma and flavor, slightly stale, makes me think this is not so fresh; correct bitterness, there is a bit of resiny hops, no much fruits.
Probably old, not too good.

Draft - Sweet caramel and orange. Clear gold with a decent white head. Cardboard and earthy notes with a bitter bad finish.

12 oz can, thanks Poisoneddwarf- Pours hazy golden orange with a large white head that holds nicely. Aroma is sweet, malt, grassy hops, light and subdued. Taste is raw malt, some caramel, grassy hops, bready, medium bitterness. Solid beer, a bit simplistic, but nothing wrong with that.

12 oz. can- Pours very hazy for an IPA, it has an orange color and two finger white head. The aroma is resinous piney hops, citrusy, sweet light sticky malt. The taste is balanced, but the hops really resonate, pine resin, citrusy, sweet malt, but a little more sticky and syrupy than I usually prefer. All things considered I really liked this beer, cool can too.

12 oz can poured. Pours a clear copper color with a ton of lasting foam head and lace. Piney hop aroma from a distance. Bright, semi sweet hoppy flavor with a low bitter finish. Overall a tasty IPA. Well done for sure.

12 oz can from a six pack bought at Winco. Aroma is floral candy sweet, bready malt, spicy. Pours hazy burnt orange with flecks of sediment and a medium beige lacy head with good retention. Highly bitter with a lot of malt backbone. Nothing wrong with the palate. At first I thought this was way too much malt for me. I usually donít care for malty IPAs, but then it kind of started to grow on me. The high bitterness is kind of addicting. Not sure why the deScription up there says it has a mildly bitter finish.

12 oz can that screams pure Idaho. The plain, simple Western artwork reminds me of those Gunsmoke cigarettes I used to smoke as a teenager. Luckily, this tastes, looks and smells much better! Pours a hazy cantaloupe hue with a medium to large cream-colored head with good retention; leaves some cobwebby lace. Aroma is full of peachy, citrusy and piney hops with a little bit of a cotton candy-like sweetness lurking in the background. Taste is both bitter and sweet in all the right places; finishes with a lingering bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel, medium to full body. Goddamn near perfect IPA here. This really tastes fresh.

Tap @ Kahootz: Clear gold color. This is a not too in your face IPA. Mild aroma with a bread-like, mellowed out hop flavor. Not bad.

Can: First of all, I am SHOCKED by the percentage for the style! 42% Cmon, folks. Donít be showing a anti-Boise bias! We are producing some good stuff over here. Having said that, the brew is a cloudy gold with a frothy head and sticky lacing. Nice, green, citrusy aroma followed by a sturdy hop backbone in the flavor. Well balanced for an IPA and extremely easy to drink. A go to brew. Now being served in 12 packs at your local grocery store!

Figured out toward the end of my trip to drink can/bottled beer in Utah. Nice IPA that actually tasted like beer and had a good hop matrix to it. These guys can make some beer.
