Well payette brewery is not not on the bottom of my boise brewery lists. That is now that crooked fence is out. This beer should be called their pale ale, and their pale ale an ale. Maybe I have been spoiled by all the other good IPA’s out there, but this one did not make me feel satisfied in the end. Guess Ill be sticking with sockeye and tablerock for the time being.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft @ Legends Pub, Boise. Golden orange pour with a finger of creamy off-white head. Great lacing. Served a bit too cold, but light floral and citrus notes make their way through. More citrus and pine in the taste, lightly malty. Some indication of the higher IBUs and ABV, but overall a pretty approachable ‘higher octane’ IPA.

Meh. Not hoppy enough to satisfy any hop craving I may be having. Too malty with a little o that cardboard flavor and nose that comes with age. Spicy and bitter with little nose, good or bad. Not a fan.

Can from Brewforia. Pours lightly coppered gold with a white head. Aroma is rather evergreen with mild caramel backdrop. Med body. Flavor is very lush. The caramel is forward and a trifle roasty. The pine is clearly present. There’s other hop, but I can’t pick them out individually. The mouthfeel is fairly lush; the flavor is fairly strong, tho not very harsh; the finish is nicely fruity and bitter. Solid ale.

Can courtesy of Lectvay, thanks man! Dark amber/copper pour with an off white head. Aromas of big pine hops with some earthy notes. Flavor is pine, pine, pine. Not a whole lot of maltiness to speak of, this one is all about the hops. Not bad though.

Draft. Cloudy orange color. Grapefruit in the aroma. Lots of citrus flavor. Not much head, with a little lacing. Medium bodied. Good beer!

5/31/14. Can from swap with Louis. Pours a nice copper golden with a nice head. Nice representation of a IPA. Blend of East and West coast styles. A bit thinner mouth than some of the style nice malt hop balance.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Not sure why this little gem has such low style points, It’s pretty nifty IPA that’s a cloudy golden with a nice off white head. Some light fruitiness in the smell and flavour as well as citrus hops. It’s got a really nice cream texture and is a smooth, tasty example of the style. Good work Boise boys.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can from a trade with Darrel. Poured into a snifter at home. Deep copper haze with not much head. Some ring and mild lacing. Aroma is bread, cereal, hay, light citrus, and grass. The taste is muted with bread, hay, citrus and wet grass. Bitter finish. The malt and hops kind of miss each other in balance. A little raw bitterness on the palate.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Orange, melon hops. Subtle bready, sweet malt character--just enough to support the hops. Substantial but good bitterness.
