UPDATED: APR 28, 2007 Golden yellow in alberta. Brewed by big rock brewery here in calgary for Real canadian liquor store. This is best of all PC beers I tried(Dry,Pilsner,Honey) Sweet, quite tasty for lower priced beer. I came from Black Label and this is definitely an upgrade. Some note of honey but not as much as the Big Rock honey brown. Maybe they alter the recipe slightly. not too much head. PC dry is my next can to be tasted.

Dark amber brown body with a small white head. Sweet honey and cake like aroma. Sweet flavours of honey and vaguely gingerbread like, light malt. A bit too sweet really but served up cold its not too bad.

For a ’discount’ brew, I’ve been very pleased with the hint of honey and smooth finish of this beer. Excellent choice for when you want to maximize value and flavour.

Looks like light maple syrup. Smells like a mixture of hamster, honey and rye bread. Taste is very sweet and light. Low on hops, low on malts. Crisp and actually somewhat refreshing. In the right mood this one isn’t bad.

Cirrhosis (1073) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - APR 29, 2010
Brew looks crisp and tasty with its honey brown body and ¼” cap that quickly reduced to nothing before my eyes. Ugggg….. smells like metallic soap, some nuts and overall mild and boring. Taste is sweet and malty, with mild nut and even slight amounts of hop can be found in its crisp clean finish. 9 volt battery carbonation sting in the mouth. Mellon type flavours start to appear when warm, but warm is something a bargain beer like this should never get. Open fridge grab beer, shove key into side of can, crack open seal, chug, grab new one before fist can has had a chance to hit the floor, and repeat as necessary until all desire to work on basement or do yard work is gone.

341ml bottle from the Beer Store. My bottle is right at its best before date... pours clear medium amber with a surprisingly voluptuous ever so slightly off white head. Some speckled lacing. No visible carbonation. Aroma of caramel, honey, malt and some very minor chemical like notes. Taste is medium-heavy sweet with almost no bitterness. Palate is average light-medium bodied with almost flat carbonation. Costs < $30 for a case in Ontario and that being said it’s probably one of the best discount brands.

341ml bottle at 5% a/v Pours a light gold colour with a thin white head. The aroma is somewhere between heineken skunky and urine. The taste is much better however, well balanced and still complex on the palate. Very good beer for a dollar, but you must qualify it as such in order to call it good.

355ml can pours a pale amber color with a 2 finger white head that disappears very quickly leaving no lacing. Aroma is light caramel and faint hops. Taste is light caramel sweetness with a mild hop bitterness that leaves little to be desired. Not good, not recommended.

This one pours deep amber and is topped by a fluffy beige cap. The aromas are almost aking to RIckard’s Honey brown, and when I say that, it seems like the ingredients are tough to detect. Meaning I am having a hard time rating this one. Touch of hops in the nose perhaps, some broan sugar, some cookie/biscuit.....maybe some corn and bread. Tastes fairly sweet, but not like honey, and more like sweet malty sugars. Maybe some bubblegum? It’s not superb, finishes prickly and assertive. Not all that enjoyable, but not offensive. It’s amazing that there are soooooo many of these kind of beers available at the beer store.

Nice clear amber. Not too much aroma to speak of. Mild malt, honey, and peach taste, quite sweet, with a slight dry finish. Nothing really wrong with this, but nothing good about it either.
