COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an unfiltered Belgian Style Blonde Ale. The beer is blonde in color from the pale malted barley varieties. It is delicately hopped with Styrian Golding and Celeia for medium bitterness and aroma. Sugars are added for higher attenuation, following the practices of some Belgian brewers. Belgian ale yeast is used to add complex flavor esters. This beer is unfiltered and yeast is left in for additional conditioning. The beer is named Fatale because it is 8.5% alcohol by volume and will catch up with you if youíre not careful.

Drank this beer with Ken and Julie at HoQ. Very weird strong taste. Did not enjoy this one.

Pours a hazy hay yellow with thin frothy white head that quickly fizzles to a faint lacing. Aroma is earthy, hay, brown sugar and a hint of banana/coriander. Medium sweetness - definitely sweet but not syrupy sweet. Body is not heavy - the carbonation is active enough where it hits your tongue and scrubs the sugar away but it is all very quick and finishes feeling a bit heavy down the throat and the carbonation has gone already. Overall nothing exceptional but drinkable but for the alcohol content i would expect something more exciting.

Tap at Lyonís Pub in downtown Mpls. Absolutely no head which is mainly attributed to the bartender not the beer itself. Dark golden color with good carbonation present. Aroma is odd....maybe yeast? Taste is surprisingly solid. Represents the Belgian strong ale well considering itís about as far from Belgium as possible. Alcohol is present. Some malty sweet. No real bitter or floral hops at all. While itís not the best beer out there, if youíre in Iowa (or Mpls) probably worth a try.

Tap in tulip at Lyonís pub. Hazy dark gold. Little head on my pour. Sweet smell, almost honey like. Slightly syrupy, but has elements of Belgian ales. Yeast and slight citrus, finished with syrupy alcohol. Decent attempt.

I was into Belgian Trappist Ales back in the 1970ís when Chimay was $6.00 a bottle. Blonde Fatale commands the highest price among 6-pack standard brews by Peace Tree in itís home State. Itís a barely tolerable Belgian Ale worthy for dumping two bottles in a Bubba Keg over ice for mowing the lawn. Beyond that, forget the brand.

Bottle pours hazy dark orange with a few bubbles but no real head, looks undercarbed...not off to a great start. Nose is huge banana bread and funky fruit, wheat. Taste is a banana bomb, some faint buttery fruity notes, cereal, yeast. Palate is near-flat and slick. Finish is a fruity yeast and banana bread. Didnít finish. Messy.

Bottle. Pour is straw to golden, thin white head. Aroma is banana lemon, cereal malt, light cloves and tropical fruit. Taste is candied banana, cereal and toasted malt, tropical fruit Lennon and sought herbal hops.

Bottle from Johns. Bright gold with ring. Very sweet sugary aroma with herbs and glue. Very sweet fruit peach apricot with mildly astringent herbal bitter finish. Cloying sugary watery aftertaste. Fine carbo adds to astringency. Just sits there with no head or lace. Sugar added for "higher attenuation" should not make the beer sticky sweet and thick. This is off in every way. Blech.

Draft. Clear orange-amber. Aroma is mostly bubblegum. Taste: sweet, bubblegum, light citrus, floral, very little bitterness, maybe a little butter. Palate: full body, slick texture. Overall: needs work. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Gold slight haze depending how you pour it. Light head. Frothy sugary lace. Heavy ripe fruit aroma with citrus and spice, bready with light sweetness. Slight dry woodiness. Taste is similar to aroma with more spice/citrus in finish. Peppery. Light dryness.Little bit of bannana/clove but citrus overpowers that. Some grassyness. LIght sweetness. Not much alcohol presence at all. Pretty good. Not real big on the style but I like this one.
