COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saison or farmhouse ales were traditionally brewed for the farm laborers in Belgium. To put a local footprint on this Iowa farmhouse ale, local sweet corn is used. Not only is the finest quality malted barley used, but the corn’s stalk too, which is loaded with sugar and flavor. Mild hops and Belgian yeast are used to bring out fruity aromas and earthy flavors

i really liked this. nice earthy aroma with sweet hints of corn. taste is very drinkable saison with added corn sweetness that is slight. not too earthy, perhaps would be more interesting with a more dominant yeast. I will buy it next time i’m in iowa. simple but enjoyable.

12 oz bottle from Pepsican. Nose is yeasty, with notes of sweet corn, and grassy hops. Murky yellow with a medium pale yellow head. Flavor is white pepperiness, a slight bitterness, and a slightly funky note. Not a bad saison.

355mL thanks to BeerHawk11. Pours clear straw with weak head formation. Weak white lace. Nose at first is grainy corn and lager sting moving thankfully to banana esters and sharp zesty spices. Taste is a light suddy but certainly dry and mildly spicy. But pretty plasticy and overtly bland. Chamomile soap finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thanks GT2! Yellow gold pour with moderate haze in the body, and a small white head atop it all. Caramel malt, banana esters, floral herbals, perfume, and grainy dough lead to a moderately astringent finish with hints of corn. Medium body with low carbonation. Tannic.

Thanks to GT2 for sharing this! Hazy yellow pour. Nose holds light nectar fruit, grain, and corn; pretty much what you would expect. Flavor is much of the same, but really not bad; some bready dough, apricot, and corny adjunct. Fine.

Thanks to Santa Claus
Appearance: Pours a hazy yellow gold with absolutely no head after 20 seconds of pouring it.

Aroma: Grainy husky nose up front. Straw and fruity notes as well. Almost Kolch-like.

Taste: Spicy, fruity Belgian yeast, earthy, metallic bitterness that lingers in the finish. Rather dry and bitter.

Mouthfeel: On the thin side of medium bodied, very fizzy.

Overall: Much better than I imagined. It’s a real weird hybrid of a saison, macro pale lager and a Kolsch, or at least that’s what my senses told me throughout the session. I didn’t pick up any corn stalk sweetness as mentioned on the bottle type. Good session beer.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of gooovikings. Thanks Jetson! Clear, golden yellow appearance with a sizable white head. Pretty sweet, light corn, pale malty, light barnyard, lightly fruity, Belgian yeasty aroma. Somewhat fruity, peppery, Belgian yeasty, corn, pale malty, light barnyard flavor. Not all that smooth. I’m not a fan.

these guys really like belgian yeast. I think they need to use another yeast in there normal beers. They could be better maybe. Bright light gold no head medium carbonation. Belgian aroma, again! Some mild fruit sweet grain, funk, puke, light spice.Everything seems muted with the overpowering belgian yeast. Drinkability is ok seems a bit strong, belgian flavor maybe hops i cant tell probably just belgain taste, mild cornyness with a sweet grain and tart finish leaving a bit of grainyness. Apples.Pretty tart finish, this sour tart thing they have gets old in all of their beers also.

Shared with kristen, james and veronica. Clear yellow pour with ring of white head. Lemongrass hop nose. Not overly corny flavor. bitter finish. Didn’t really care for it though.

Spices and slightly musty in aroma. The flavor is of spice and yeast with a sweet egde, likely from the corn. Sweeter than most saisons, this was pretty good, unique.
