3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle from Hy-Vee Muscatine. Dark orange, hazy appearance with a small white head and sediment. Aroma of floral notes, Belgian yeast, citrus fruits, herbs, banana and spices. Similar flavor, adding mild zesty hop bitterness and light malty sweetness. Nicely balanced, everything comes together well.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
C/O mnmike - Thanks again Mike! Really jazzed!
Aroma - odd sort of nose, but enjoyable. Belgium yeast?! It’s slightly surprising, but really pleasant as well. Centennials are present, as well as citrus hops. A dose of resin, but not much. Very interesting.
Appearance -nice orange rust body, the liquid is cloudy almost opaque, but with a lot of nucleation going not; the head is huge about 2 3/4" of off-white head that almost starts to flake, really sexy! The dissipations is very slow, and it just kind of holds up for a while.
Taste - the flavor is really interestingly balanced. It has a piquant hop body, not bitter so to speak, but a citrus spike that’s not over the top, but definitely the defining quality, with a little champagne yeast quality. Rather tasty. In the citrus is a bit of grapefruit, pineapple, orange, and lemon essence. Had to add a late note, there is also a late tang, almost an English hop tang about it.
Palate - the body is around medium; the texture venturing toward oily; the carbonation is definitely lively; the finish is not overly lengthy, but it is spiced and mildly bitter.
Very pleasantly surprised.

Backlog of ratings. Thanks to someone at one of bu11zeye’s tastings. The smell is fruits, hops, citrus, and yeast. The look is golden in color with an off white head. The taste is floral, malts, hops, and some bitterness.

Bottle. Sweet hop aroma. Murky deep amber body. Nice hoppy flavor. Not the best IPA I’ve ever had but not bad.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at GTMW 2013
Another brewery which I visited on a whim this one was a solid IPA. The product is not remarkable enough to compete with the best of the best but if I were ever in Iowa I’d pick up a couple.
Aroma / Appearance - The bronze body sticks to the glass with evidence of carbonation bubbling up from time to time. Grass and bitterness cling in the air with a malt bill gluing it all together. It is not exciting but gets the job done.
Flavor / Palate - A oaky envelope wraps around the bitter mouthfeel. It sits in the background the entire time with various hops peeking up from time to time. There aren’t any massive flaws but it is not enormously exciting either. This is just a run of the mill IPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had it out of bottle. Pours a fizzy big non-lasting head with a sweet aroma and a murky copper hue. The taste is tangy bitter hop.

2.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours a cloudy burnt orange with thin head and not much lacing. Aroma is Belgian candy sugar yeast, with some cherry. Taste is more yeast, dusty, musty, and a little stale. Finish is bitter citrus but still feels stale. Palate is terrible as it explodes with carbonation in your mouth. It’s more of a seltzer water sensation if you swallow fast enough, but if you let it linger it expands and ruins everything.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasted from a 12oz. bottle. Poured a rich, dark, hazy amber with ample effervescence and a big, bubbly head. Faint aroma of hops and grass. Taste of hops and grapefruit with a bitter finish.
