4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sample at a tasting. This is my favorite style of IPA- a strong citrus flavor and not too bitter. The flavors seemed to mellow some as it warmed up. Not quite the best, but very good in my opinion.

THOUGHTS: This had some of my favorite hops. While it wasn’t overwhelmingly original at first it was rather complex. Very nice for an organic beer. It was almost mouth-numbingly hoppy. There was an ever so slight Belgian quality to the yeast. I did not expect to like this, but it was very nice.
TECHNICAL: The label on my bottle clearly stated 7.1not 7.2 % ABV. Poured a cloudy, dark, slightly brownish, orange with a large, off-white head that mostly diminished and left fair lacing. The aroma had light to moderate caramel malts; moderate to heavy pine grapefruit, orange, apricot and earthy hops; a hint of minty hops; and light to moderate yeast. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and moderate to rather bitter; while the finish was slightly sweet and heavily bitter with an average to long duration. There was caramel, orange hops, grapefruit hops, a little pine hops earthy hops, yeast, pineapple and floral hops. The light to medium body was slightly watery yest also a bit syrupy with fairly fizzy carbonation and a slightly astringent, slightly alcoholic and dry finish.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Im not sure why they call this an IPA when no bittering hops are used. The flavoring hops were mild and fruity/floral. The taste was light and sweet and almost resembled a weak cider. Not very impressed.

Had at a tasting, he said we used no bittering hops. Yet they call this an ipa, what the fuck?

Excellent burnt orange color, like carmelized apricots. 1/2 finger wide head thins out but remains slightly on top. Outstanding aroma, complex with notes of caramel, baking bread, slight cheese funkness (that isn’t necessarily bad), and resin/pine hops. A lot going on there. Easy going down, carbonated and a long sticky finish. Interesting taste, not quite as promising as the nose but not bad. A blast of caramel sweetness upfront moves onto a serious resin/citrus hop middle cut with pineapple notes. Something else small (barnyard maybe?) isn’t quite right there a really dry bitter, nutty finish. Taste starts good but goes south at the end. Decent beer with aroma and appearance being the highlights.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours with a warm, hazy, medium-orange color and a big, fluffy white head. The aroma is light and pleasant, with a floral, herbal hop character that is contrasted by a little bit of caramel sweetness. The flavor is again largely herbal, but there is also a sweet citrus component that reminds me of orange soda. There is also a kind of non-specific resinous bitterness that I can only describe as being similar to eating plant stems and grapefruit rinds. The finely-carbonated, almost creamy texture helps to at least partially cover for this strange bitterness.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Golden, moderate bitterness chock full of good flavor IPA. Alcohol content bordering a 2XIPA, but well blended with grapefruit flavors and malt backbone.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
So, I picked this up for the tick, not realizing it was brewed at Shipyard. So, in a way, it got points right off the bat for not being a buttery mess. Actually not bad - nice mix of the usual malty flavors and hops. Actually leans bit towards the sweeter, maltier versions.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle into a crystal pint glass. Frothy head the builds and sticks around, this is a great brew. Easy sipper with plenty of hop back bone. The hops are quite fresh, hence the organic label. Tastes like they have just been picked. Color is slight red, slight bronze, and plenty orange. Taste is soapy, fresh, fullfilling, and citrus. Dried pine sneaks in there too. A quality brew here.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is peachy and slight grapefruity. Citrusy and peachy flavoured. Mild brett. Crisp citrusy, slight leathery and dry finish, yet only subdued bitterness.
