3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 porterhouse (1481) - Alna, Maine, USA - JAN 3, 2012
(Bottle (best before 1/12)) Pours hazy orange-amber. Three fingers of lightly amber, off-white head. Fresh, strong sweet grapefruit-citrus aroma. Mouthfeel full, smooth, lightly prickly. Flavor of sweet citrus-grapefruit, moderately bitter, over caramel and vanilla maltiness. Quite tasty and solid, marred a bit by some soapiness toward finish.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Scrapersnbeer (217) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 2, 2012
An opaque orange beer with dissipating yellow head. Smells piney and spicy with bread on the side. Nice yeast presence. Taste is more mellow malts than bitter hops. Really more like a regular pale with the higher proof of a typical IPA. Strangely sweet finish. Medium bodied and oily. Decent enough, but I probably wouldn’t get it at a bar.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 probstk (1911) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 28, 2011
12 fl oz bottle from Bear World (Watertown), served cool in a tulip glass. 26DE11.
App.: Clear deep amber with a nice light tan froth.
Aroma: Burnt sugar, dark toast crust, sweet caramel, some dark dried fruits, a strange tang, slightly green, sorta floral/medicinal, maybe it’s a little infected?, some Sauvignon Blanc/extremely dry white wine, slightly peppery, hints of cola-like herbals, odd.
Palate: Medium+ body, restrained, somewhat sloppy effervescence.
Flav.: Peppery, green, soapy, caramel, brown sugar, a bit medicinal, Sauv. Blanc, green (again), a touch fruity, still odd; dry with decent bitterness and a strange candle wax, earthy, slightly malty, possibly infected finish.
Bizarre.

Musty citrus smell. Similar taste. Didn’t enjoy this at all. Bitter bland blah. I haven’t found an organic beer I like yet so it might be a sign
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 dagimp (416) - Philly, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 17, 2011
Poured from a 12 oz into a pint glass. Some head, perhaps about 2 inches or so. minor lacing, but not much. Aroma is mild and unremarkable. Mouthfeel is overcarbonated. Taste is more like an apa, than an IPA. Pretty lemony hops. Meh, much better IPAs out there. Kudos for being organic though.
