3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark gold. Good balanced, malty Ipa. I wish the hops came through a little stronger.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Wegmans Leesburg. It pours a hazy amber color with a small off white head. Lots of dank and herbal hops in the nose. Rather surprising. Those hop notes care over to the flavor with a little citrus note thrown in. Low bitterness for the style. Medium caramel and grain from the malt. Light to medium body. Decent. Seems most organic brews suck and this one does not.

Liz’s wedding. Too hoppy. This is nothing too exciting. Would not bother with this again.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
never had a peak organic brew before, first whiff reveals Ringwood yeast diacetyl, kind of surprising. Then I looked and found it is brewed by Shipyard in Maine and not Portland Oregon as I thought after a cursory look at bottle. Very much in the style of Middle Ages IPA, another ringwood based IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a light orange hue. Nice bit of head on this one. Nice big floral and weedy bouquet. Good load of bitterness here. I wasn’t expecting much and this IPA exceeded it.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Don’t know why so many poor ratings. This is probably a slightly above-average IPA, but in a field with so many that butcher the style with poor choice of hops. Good aroma and medium bitter.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a clear amber with small off-white head. Aroma of pine. The flavor is an odd combination of citrus and pine. I have not yet decided if I like it. Medium body, dry finish.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Golden pour with orange hue. Creamy white head. Very piney and juniper aroma. Flavor is also very piney and juniper. You'd think it was dry hopped with pine needles. Clean dry finish.

February 2012. I’ve always found that organic IPA’s somehow remove the important aromas and flavors, making the beers more bland, but this one is an exception. It’s still an IPA and a very good one too. It got balance, hops, pine and fruit.
