2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Sampled on draft at Smokiní Joeís in Pittsburgh PA this beer poured a red-amber color with a medium sized head that produced good lacing. The aroma was sour toasted caramel. The flavor was sour toasted caramel, moderately harsh fruity hops and had a odd buttery undertone. The finish was long, rough, hoppy and buttery. Medium body. Not good.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
10 ounce helping served up at Summits Wayside Tavern in Woodstock, Georgia.
Appearance: Served up a clear, garnet-hued body capped with a thin layer of lasting, whipped, off-white foam.
Smell: Particularly candyish nose with a sweet-scented maltiness marked with a whiff of toasted bread crusts brushed with butterscotch and maple syrup. Earthy, grassy, citrusy hops in the nose, as is a wafting booziness.
Taste: Deeply toasted maltiness teamed with a burst of caramel candy sweetness and a meager hint of nuttiness. Dab of buttery diacetyl blended in. Slight maple tones, reminiscent of their Maple Oat Ale. Earthy, modestly grassy hop character along with some fruity, citrusy grapefruit tastes. Moderate bitterness that makes way for a touch of hard fusel alcohol to reach the tongue. Finishes dry and zesty with a lingering mixture of bitterness and alcoholic warmth.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation. Notably smooth mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Itís bitter, itís a bit boozy, but itís got a pleasant smoothness to it that helps it go down without too much trouble. However, the ten ounces in this helping is more than enough for one sitting.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
The aroma is very hoppy with pine and citrus hops. The malt is almost syrupy. The appearance is deep amber with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma with a papery bitter finish. The palate is average. Overall a decent beer but itís too astringent.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours clear deep amber into a Sam glass. Off-white micro head with good retention recedes leaving spider lacing to coat surface. Sour caramel aromas. Thick with sweet toasted caramel and hay upfront turning to a mild resin finish.

22oz bottle, Foil wrapped, Twist-off. (Why put foil on a twist-off?) Pours cherrywood red color, light tan color. Looks like an Arrogant. Aroma of rich sugary caramel malt and a load of hops. Nice pine hop bitterness. Flavor has a harsh hop bite. Gave me goosebumps during the first few sips. Nice caramel malt and chocolate malt character and grapefruit bitterness. A good amount of hop sweetness, overpowered by a sharp hop bite. The hop bitterness in this beer could kill the common man. Overall it is an American Strong Ale that imitates a harsh Arrogant Bastard.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Churchkey, Washington D.C. With so little information about this I wasnít really sure what to think. Pours a transparent orange, amber with a frothy, lacing white head. Aroma is pretty big but not aggressive: grapefruit, caramel sweetness, some biscuit, some berries. Long, bitter, sharp finish was a bit of a surprise. Flavors of caramel, sweet malts, oranges, lemons, sticky, resin. Surprisingly nice, a touch too bitter on the end.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22oz bomber split with Anndiesel. Unfiltered burgundy-red-orange, glowing. Foamy off-white/beige head. Interesting balance of an aroma, from cherry wood amber malt tones to a menthol citrus hop edge. A pretty decent and enjoyable beer, but the choice of hops maybe just doesnít work here...or something. Cooling and tropical essence of the Simcoe hop interacts awkwardly with the big caramel and amber malt tones. You could call this an English Barleywine maybe. Interesting and unique, but not that well executed.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Big, fluffy, ivory head on a clear, medium-dark maroon beer. Appearance dings for the twistoff bomber - thatís just like flipping a bird at homebrewers everywhere. Pedestrian label, foil top. Diacetyl dominates the otherwise tangy, tannic APA aroma. Sometimes it was a bit perfumy. Frooty beer. Plum/sloe, sweet, citrus gel flavors of tea, wood and orange peel. Prominent tangerine notes in the finish. Medium body, brothy mouthfeel with a citrus pith bitterness at the end. New Leaf Market.
