Our brown ale is smooth with a delicious nutty finish.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear dark reddish brown color with very little tan head. Weak aroma of toasted bread and caramel malts. Taste of lots of roasted malt, a slight nuttiness, and not much else.

Bottle - from Ale in the Mail. Medium brown color - mostly clear. Clean, malty aroma. Good - roasty, slightly malty flavor. Good, slightly dark head. What a brown ale should be.

From a bottle. A clear medium brown body with a bone color head. Head had great retention and decent lace. Aroma had a nice balance of mildly sweet caramel malts and a slight roasted quality. A gentle nutty aroma and there was a slightly off putting medicinal aroma. Flavor was well balanced with a nice sweet malt flavors and a mild nutty flavor. No real hops. Although the beer seemed two-dimensional it was still enjoyable. Easy to drink and would make a great session ale.

Location: 12 oz bottle from State Line, 5/19/13

Aroma: The aroma is sweet and malty, with some bread malts, fruit, and a bit of toffee
Appearance: Pours a muddy brown color, slight orange hue, small beige head and drippy lace
Flavor: The flavor is medium-plus sweet, it’s more bready early, but the fruitiness comes out later on
Palate: The body is on the light side of medium, with a smooth feel, and a slightly astringent finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was an alright, but just a little flawed beer. There’s some good stuff in here for sure, but it just isn’t quite there.

12 oz bottle - from notes. Dark amber with small tan head that leaves good lacing. Looks on the more watery and more on the light side of the color variants for this style. A fine nut brown, with plenty of nutty malt flavor. Hops are clearly present but this is a more malty beer featuring medium roasted malt. Fine malty finish and aftertaste, again with a significant but mild hop presence. Medium body. Excellent carbonation. Semi-dry finish.

very bitter, nothing like Samuel Smith’s nut brown ale - which is MUCH better

355ml bottle pours an amber brown color with a small white head that leaves very little lacing on the glass. Aroma is nutty with some caramel notes and grass. Taste is caramel malty sweetness with some nuts and a grassy hop bitterness. Nothing special here, just another brown ale.

Actually a pretty good brown ale, has a nutty finish and a nice light brown pour. This beer is a much better offering than the previous peak organic beer I tried which was the pale ale.
