A traditional summer wheat beer marries a west coast Pale ale. Brewed with locally grown wheat, providing a complex mouthfeel, and single-hopped and generously dry-hopped with Amarillo, creating a glorious citrusy aroma and finish. The approachable 5% abv makes this the perfect session beer on a summer day.

Very mild and smooth with hints of citrus, butter, and apricot. Very light tasting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This brew sucked. I’ve tried a lot of beers via the beer of the month club and this is far and away the worst. I imagine horse piss having more flavor than this. Lemon, grapefruit and hops mixed in the worst way. Save yourself some money. I feel like Beer of the Month club should offer a refund after this crap.

On tap in NYC. Pours a hazy gold color with fluffy white head. Nice hoppy aroma for the style with notes of lemons and green grass. Taste is a good golden ale. light, crisp, refreshing. This is the perfect style for an organic beer. Palate is mellow.

Bottle. I struggled through this one. Was expecting something lighter for a summer session ale. Big grapefruit aroma and flavor from the hops that masked every other flavor and made for poor balance. I’ve had Amarillo singled hopped IPAs that I liked but this didn’t work for me.

Bottle - via Ale in the Mail. Medium golden color - clear. Very clean aroma. Strong, nasty diacetyl taste - hops are there and slightly skunked. Not good.

A mostly clear yellow body with a white head that had some retention and a bit of lace. Aroma had some nice bitter hops and mild grass note. Mild wheat note. There was a somewhat medicinal quality to it. The flavor had a nice bitterness to it with a mild wheat flavor to it. Mild citrus. A nice smooth finish. A decent mouth feel. Beer could have been better if it did not have that medicinal aroma.

[US West Coast Trip 2013] underbar aroma, fruktig frisk och humlig. Smaken är dessvärre inte lika bra. Dock rätt välbalanserad.

On tap. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a white foamy head and lots of lacing. It has a nice aroma with plenty of hoppy citrus and a bit of grass. The flavor is mildly hoppy up front with a balanced middle and crisp, wheaty aftertaste over a light body. A great summer session beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 ounce twist-off bottle - $1.79 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Best Enjoyed Before: N 13.

Appearance: Pours a hazy, yellow-hued body with small-sized, white head.

Smell: Moderately lemony, but, there’s also a little hint of tangerine. Grainy, modestly wheat-scented malts. And a single pat of sweet cream butter.

Taste: Soft wheat character, faintly grainy, lightly sweet, with, as always, the buttery diacetyl tones from the Ringwood. Bright, light citrusy lemon taste pops in as does the bitterness, but, what would be a more cutting hop quality, is, I feel, blunted by the buttery hint throughout. Drying, smooth, buttery-lemon finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Skosh of a medium level of carbonation.

Overall: While I found the twelve ounces agreeable, but I wonder where it finds a home at. It’s not overly wheaty and the hops are somewhat muted by the diacetyl character (at least in this batch), so, I do wonder "who is this for?" I could see this being replaced sometime down the road.

Hazy amber/gold color; Light to medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of wheat, yeast, & lemon zest; Flavor of wheat, citrus (notably lemon), and grain/grass; Crisp finish; Nice wheat ale.
