COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Peak Maple Collaboration is a truly local project. Itís a new twist on our previously brewed Maple Oat Ale. We worked with local farmers and small businesses to craft this beer with Maine-grown organic oats from GrandyOats and Vermont-produced organic maple syrup from Butternut Mountain Farms. The Maple Collaboration is a copper-colored brew with a dynamic mouth feel from the organic oats and a subtle richness in the finish from the organic maple syrup. The beer is in support of Chefs Collaborative, the nationís leading environmentally conscious culinary organization.

It pours a clear copper color leaving the same color body. A nice one inch white foamy head appears and concaves to leave some nice foamy lacing around the sides of the pint glass. The body is light enough for some carbonation to be seen rising. The smell is all about the maple up front pretty much masking everything else even after some warming, I was hoping some other possible flavors might show up, but not this time. The taste is exceptionally sweet, perhaps a bit too much maple, I wasnít expecting this. The palate is about a medium and very smooth, possibly because of the extra maple in this beer. Overall, I really wasnít expecting this beer to be this good. Though its more of a dessert beer because of the sweetness, Iíd probably have it again. I will say its very different for the style.

Pours a clear bright orange/golden with a thick off white head...great lacing and retention. Aroma has notes of sweet dry dry leaves...maple, honey, light toasted grain. Flavor is very sweet as well with notes of leaves, maple, earthy bitterness, and tea...fairly balanced. Mouthfeel is full and the finish lingers with tea and mild earthy bitterness.

Pours an amber color with a nice sweet maple syrup aroma! I taste some apples and maple syrup in my mouth! Would pair very well with a bacon rich breakfast. Alas, I have no breakfast right now so the rating will reflect that.

Poured a reddish color, very clear. Stable off-white head. Aroma has fruit with apples and some maple. Taste is sweet and malty with maple and more fruit. A bit too fruity. Maple doesnít shine like I thought it would. The aftertaste is good with some maple flavors that the main taste didnít have. Overall ok.

Well this is the strangest beer Iíve tried. Iím not sure how to describe it... Iím not even sure how I like it. Nice even brown color, but more clear than it should be. Kind of a vegetable aroma, not much maple, but drinking leaves some syrup-like film on your lips. Maple? Maybe, canít tell. Not bitter, actually sweet, so maybe maple. Terry it...What do you think?

Poured from a bottle. Nice clear amber color, medium white frothy head. Somewhat of a scotch smell. Butternut squash flavor with a residual syrup flavor left on your lips. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma of grains like a bad scotch, nice color, clear with an amber colour and no head. Taste of butternut squash with a syrupy palate.

Location: 22 oz bottle from State Line, 11/25/13

Aroma: The nose is very sweet, maple syrup, honey, caramel, toffee, and apple
Appearance: It pours a clear reddish-orange color with a frothy beige head and mid lace
Flavor: The taste is heavy sweet, and component-wise it basically matches up with the nose
Palate: It is medium bodied and has a pretty solid feels that stays away from getting too sticky
Overall Impression: I thought this was a decent, but ultimately too sweet beer. I certainly didnít hate it, but it just doesnít quite do it for me.

Tasted from a 650mL bomber bottle. Pours clear dark orange with a thick white head that slowly recedes to average lace, and sticky residue along the inside of the glass. The nose is marshmallow and caramelized brown sugar with some bread and light bitterness. The flavor is nicely sweet up front, with the marshmallow and maple, moving to the more bitter burnt brown sugar. The body is medium with average carbonation and a medium sweet maple and bitter burnt brown sugar finish.
