3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 chinchill (580) - South Carolina, USA - MAY 4, 2013
Cloudy light orange amber. White head with decent retention.
Not your typical aroma for style; little in the way of spices. Light malt, wheat and hops dominate. Some yeast in the aroma, but rather faint compared to a Belgian. Less hoppy than expected for a beer described as part DIPA.

22oz bomber split with Anndiesel. Super yeasty, unfiltered thick orange-tan. Creamy, impressive white head. I’m not a fan of most Double Wits I’ve had, but this one sort of reminds me more of a big German Weizenbock. albeit more aggressively hopped...hmmm..sort of like a big White IPA in a sense. Orange juice, grapefruit, banana, clove. Very nice offering, another winner from Peak.

Tampa, Fl - Total Wine - 22 oz bomber. Medium golden sparkling, some specks floating about, off-white head - sticky lacing. Aroma of canned fruit cocktail, white grapes, a touch of alcohol. Flavor is enticing with some juicy fruit gum, some scuppernong grapes, some maple syrup sweetness, a touch of pear fruitiness. Mouthfeel has a nice stickiness to it. Very enjoyable.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 nick76 (4077) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JAN 17, 2013
The aroma is hoppy with pine and citrus hops as well as some fruit and spice. The appearance is golden with floating particles. The taste is like the aroma with an astringent finish. The palate is average. Overall a hoppy beer that does not have any wheat taste that is not that great.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jgb9348 (3964) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - NOV 10, 2012
Super hazy golden coloured body with an orange glow and a thinnish, one centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of super pungent wheat, tons of hops, alcohol, bread, yeast, coriander seed and a bunch of curacao. Full-bodied; Strong alcohol flavour with some resin and a bunch of hops in the mix, all with a lot of oranges, grapefruits and a rather bitter metallic note. Aftertaste shows some strong flavours with the hops up front, alcohol and a strong earthy yeastiness. Overall, a rather deep and full-flavoured beer with some good tastes and perhaps too much bitterness, some from hops, but most from alcohol and metallic flavours. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 24-October-2012 for US$6.49 sampled at home in Washington on 10-Noember-2012.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 13/20 radarsock (478) - Massachusetts, USA - SEP 3, 2012
Advertised as a cross between an IPA and a Hefe—not sure about combining either together. Pours a dirty, unfiltered dark nectar orange with a foamy head two-to-three fingers in length. On the nose I get Sauvin hops, spicy yeast, lactose, tangerine zest and malt extract. Definitely a lot of citrus in the flavor; also incorporated is coriander, some lavender, bitter hops and slight banana at swallow. Getting virtually no clove flavors in this concoction. Interesting idea, but I would have liked to have tasted more fruitiness and less pungent bitterness. Could have been more balanced as is often the case.
3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 16/20 obguthr (3225) - Poquoson, Virginia, USA - AUG 23, 2012
Marigold and lemongrass nose, soil accents, banana hints. Cloudy amber, abundant sediment, headless. Lilly dominant flavor upfront, moonpie banana and marshmallow barge in at midpalate. Somewhat chemical in the finish,. A little resinous as well, which I find off putting with the typical weizen flavors. I attribute that to a weird gestalt between the floral hop notes and fruity hefe yeast esters. I really dig the idea of hoppy hefes, as my past rating will attest. I don’t think the selection of hops wa right for this base beer, however.

Bottle. Banana and wheat malt aroma. Hazy golden yellow with large head. Very sweet banana/orange and wheat malt flavor. Bitter alcoholic and light orange peel finish. Different - not bad but on the harsh side.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Lubiere (8243) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 7, 2012
A golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, strange fruity malt with tangerine pulp, a bit off. In mouth, a chalky honey malt, sweet, oxidized, with orn grits, alcohol warmth, rather cloying. On tap at Somerville Summerfest, July 14, 2012.

Bottle. Amber pour with a short, fizzy white head. Strong citrus, yeast, wheat notes, and caramel in the aroma. Taste is strong citrusy hops, floral hops, wheat, yeast notes, pine, and soft banana. Body is medium with a fizzy carbonation, but moderate chewiness. Soft warmth as well, from the 8.6% ABV. Ends with more citrus fruit, pine, hop resins, wheat, yeast notes, banana and floral hops.
