COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Weiss Principal is the international love child of a German Hefe-Weisse and an American Double IPA. This unfiltered wheat beer employs a traditional German Weiss yeast, providing engaging banana and clove flavors. A stern dry-hopping of a pungent American hops provides pronounced citrus, pine & fruit notes.

Drought. Cloudy orange-yellow, off-white creamy head, clover and spices aroma, hoppy taste with spicy flavor, low carbonation, long finish. Quite spicy but interesting.

A very complex beer. Very little head and no lacing, but a good fruity aroma. The taste is really a combination of barley and grains with heavy, almost syrupy tropical fruits.

Bottle via trade. Golden orange appearance with a light tan head. Some juicy hops in the nose but also a lot of bread and a bit of cardboard. Tangerine, mango fruity notes in the flavor. A little sappy / goopy resiny. Sharp bitterness and sweetness. Boozy. Gross.

Uklar orange farge med tynt hvitt skum. Lukter humle, banan og krydder. Noe oljete i munnfølese. Ganske skarp humlebitter i ettersmak.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber body with a medium creamy white head. Aroma is banana, clove, grassy pine syrup tones, hints of booze and peaches. Taste is grassy piney syrup tones, faint banana, alcohol, hints of spruce. Medium to full body, medium to high carbonation. Nice enough, but I’m not feeling the meeting of styles here.

Unclear matt medium yellow orange colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, light caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, herbs, grass, orange - citrus, moderate yeasty, fruity. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, fruity, hoppy, sharp, light yeasty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130913]

Bottle (bomber) from Systembolaget. Shady orange, large off-white head. Tropical fruit hop aroma with some perfumy notes, did not pick up any evident weizen flavours. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Dry, medium bitterness.

22oz bottle, split amongst friends. Poured a slightly hazy, amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma was notes of citrus, some wheat notes, caramel. Flavor was notes of caramel, citrus, floral notes. Banana in there, some chewy grains. Pretty thick brew. Interesting.

The sophomoric monniker is a little unexpected. Dark gold pour. Fresh meadow aroma with a splash of citrus punch. The taste is a bit eccentric, like an imperial pilsener, or something that isn’t usually cranked up to this degree. It is called an imperial hefe-weisse (not weizen). A sweet, yeasty bread flavor. Good brew.
