2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Light to moderate malt notes of cookie and nutty, light flowers for the hops, dough for the yeast, with hints of toffee, brown sugar and faint rubber. Head is small, wispy, white with some spotty and slippery lacing and is almost fully diminishing. Color is clear copper. Flavor starts moderately acidic and lightly bitter, then finishes lightly acidic and heavily bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery with a soft carbonation. Okay aromas, but there is not much else appealing, like the lack of any sweetness in this Dunkelweizen.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Iím not sure of a dunkelweizen, but has the aroma of fruity citrus weizen. Nice hop malt balance, light medium body, light brown color, overall a decent beer, or session beer.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Twist of bottle. Looks like iced tea. Smell is a little metallic. Decent co2. Taste seems harsher than 5%. Malty thru & thru. Hops in the background and leaves a medium bittter finsh.

3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle 355 ml
Aroma Solid fresh hop character, mineral bitterness with sweet malt below. Very, very refreshing. I love that straight clean nose. 8-
Appearance dark amber with medium plus tanned top.3+
Flavor and Palate : Medium bodied with thinner sides. Black tea, citrus, lemon grass. Thinner finish. Great hop character unfortunately paired with shallow underdeveloped body. Quiet a shame.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
20110322 12oz bottle from State Line. Dirty copper color with thin beige head. Aroma is surprisingly hoppy with tropical and orange, some wheat sandwich bread, and burnt caramel. Iím not really sure what itís supposed to be, and blind Iím not sure I would guess anything close to winter wheat. Flavor is sweet, a bit stale, quickly citrus, then lingering dull grassiness. That this is getting any decent scores must be purely because itís bitter. That said, Iím glad to see this brewery at least taking a chance with a variety of styles.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Vibrant brassy amber brew with resilient covering. Piquant citrus hoppiness, with a resinous skunkiness to it, supported my a hearty malt backbone. Dehusked maltiness with sharp hoppiness to it with citrus and, again, some harsh resinous skunkiness and vegetal notes. An interesting brew with some bold parts that donít quite come together.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a three finger thick, off-white head that fades very slowly leaving a good lace. Nice crystal clear amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is light grapefruit hops, flavor is same with the grapefruit hops up front, malts are in background. Lingering bitter aftertaste. $2.25 for a 12oz bottle from Julioís Liquors Westborough, Ma.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle. Medium amber pour with a quickly fading head. Hops are plentiful but taste a bit off in this one. Not even close to my idea of a winter beer and not all that memorable.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark copper pour. Aroma is muted caramel, grain, some vegetative notes. A dunkletweizen? Really? Flavor is clean toasted notes, some sweet honey, caramel. Meh.
