Bottle from Whole Foods. Pours darkly ruddy with a foamy off-white head. Pineapple? Maybe. And some roast malt. Near full body. Flavor is roast malt with a lot of hop flavor. Nicely bittingly bitter. This is dang flavorful stuff. Pineapple? Yeah, maybe, probably, ok, they say it is. Why not?
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 CaptainCougar (7093) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - NOV 24, 2010
Bottle: Pours a clear deep bronze amber with a stringy-lacing froth of off-white head. Has a fresh piny hoppy nose with some lightly sweet toasted nutty caramel malt. Starts with average fullness and some light grainy malty sweetness with a toasted rye bread and mild citrusy hop balance before a doughy finish. A pretty unique and well-balanced winter ale.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Leighton (6956) - London, ENGLAND - JAN 23, 2012
Bottle at home in Salisbury. Thanks, Mom! Pours clear, copper-red with a creamy, off-white foam head. Has a rather nice aroma of toasted caramel, pine, orange, and sweet bread. Flavor follows reasonably well. Quite citrusy with light to medium sweetness, plenty of toasty bread, modest bitterness. Light to medium bodied with mouth-filing, lively carbonation. Slightly sticky to finish, mild sweetness, some citrus, pine and grass hops, light toast. Decent enough beer, though the overall character seems to falter after the aroma and limp a bit thereafter.

Draft at Capone’s. Pours copper with nose of caramel malt and earthy jops. Tastes malty with some hops and fruity notes. The Citra hop stands out in this, providing late citric bite.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 jercraigs (6477) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 24, 2012
2012-12-08. Brown body with a small tan head 3+ Dry aroma, notes of vegetation and leafy hops is rather odd. Flavour is similar with and odd vegetation character, mild bitterness, muted malt. Average bodied palate, soft carbonation. A bit of a mess, I did not care for it. Not sure if it is the beer itself or if the cask did not fare well. On cask at Goodbar, Buffalo
3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Radek Kliber (5906) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - MAY 10, 2011
Bottle 355 ml
Aroma Solid fresh hop character, mineral bitterness with sweet malt below. Very, very refreshing. I love that straight clean nose. 8-
Appearance dark amber with medium plus tanned top.3+
Flavor and Palate : Medium bodied with thinner sides. Black tea, citrus, lemon grass. Thinner finish. Great hop character unfortunately paired with shallow underdeveloped body. Quiet a shame.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 GT2 (5659) - Riverslime, California, USA - JAN 11, 2013
Tap at Iron Horse tap room. Good webby tan lacing. Nose is sweet strawberry candies, sweet coffee, pepper. Taste similar with a lot of spicy and gritty coffee grinds. Interesting. Definitely not dunkelweizen, no yeast character, huge coffee adjunct. Mild butter in the nose. Big spicy finish. Thinner palate. No wheat beer density. Spicy pepper and coffee masks weak diacetyl.
