5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
This may be the perfect beer. Pours out of the 12oz bottle an attractive deep brown with a inch thick creamy tan head. Aroma is that of chocolate and nuts. First sip fills your mouth with a light chocolatey maltiness and as your senses warm up to the flavor you can pick out a toasted undertone. the hops are understated but leave an ever so subtle bitterness on your tongue.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle. Earlier samplings of this beer were not stupendous but this time, I tried a bottle and was ever so pleasantly pleased. In a glass it is the perfect amber/chocolate color. Darker than a Newcastle but not too much. Head was beige and about an inch thick. A lighter body with dainty chocolate and crystal malty nose. The flavor is all malt but not too heavy. Yum.

I think my bottle had some age on it, definite (slight) skunky quality that I would not associate with a brown ale... At. All. It wasn’t unpleasant, but off putting in the style. That being said it was brought to me, by car, from Wisconsin, bought that week. If it’s an age thing than the product is not moving off the shelves.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled. Poured clear, lighter-brown with a short-lived beige head. The aroma picked up toasted caramel and nutty notes with light herbal accents.. not a lot going on, but not bad. The flavor found similar stuff.. nutty notes and caramel again at the core, with dry, grainy herbal notes around.. finished dry with a nice dose of caramel and lesser chocolate. Light-bodied, dry, and grainy on the palate.. low-ish carbonation.. very drinkable.
